That moment when you realize you shouldn't have encouraged W1zz to have so much fun with the naming of his reviews...

compared to it's non-colored brothers...

biological brothers? the colours suggest otherwise lol

We need a whole new review on the colour segment alone

99.99% of so called “white” cards currently available are not fully white so at this point I’m just giving up . That combined with the fact that they are being released late like why not have this variant on day 1 … or whenever the regular taichi came to market. Not sure what they gained by delaying it and same goes with powercolor Msi etc

Mate i'm colour-blind... i always struggle with whites, off-whites and super light different shades of creamy whites. I've fell into this trap a couple of times... only to find out the different shades once the item is held up against real whites. RMA!!

anyway i think i'm bored of white builds, lighting, etc... maybe the next upgrade will be all black (even thats hard to achieve unless we're buying pricier all-black options)

This would have been great in the wife's new, all white build, and to replace her 2080. Only problem, 35cm? That's 5cm longer than her 2080 - too big for the Evolv X case with a water pump in it!

Why is the card reporting to run at PCI-E x16 @ 3.0 speeds in the OC page?
Possibly power savings, it runs at x16 4.0 of course under load, I check for that before beginning a benchmark session

Sucks that the PCB isn't white. I know that white PCBs are harder to manufacture, but if you market a card as a white edition, then it should be all-white IMO.

Still a pretty card though.

ASRock's website states their RX 7900 XTX series of cards require a PSU of min 1000W but your test setup is using only a 850W PSU. Is that enough? Cos i'm considering one of ASRock's 7900 XTX cards but my PSU is only 850W. What's confusing to me is that AMD and other GPU partners state a min requirement of either 800W or 850W for their 7900 XTX cards. Pretty big gap from 850W to 1000W. Do I need to upgrade my PSU if i decide to pull the trigger for one of them ASRock's cards?

Any form of recommendation from ASRock or AMD can be discarded because a PSU recommendation based on only the GPU is stupid. You're not buying a PSU for a GPU, you're buying it for an entire PC.
Well, there are probably some exceptions, like mining, but no, I'm not talking about that.
An 850W PSU can run about everything minus extremely exotic configurations.

@W1zzard

In future reviews you might want to include one really old game, and one really old old game in your reviews. Like Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 for example.

I sold my 6800 XT recently with hopes of getting a 7900 XT, only to come to find out from tabascosauce here on the forums that next gen 7000 series has a vram downclocking issue in older games, hindering performance, and I have read on other forums about 6800 XT beating 7900 XT in games like like World of Warcraft because of this auto vram downclocking issue. I also don't feel comfortable paying premium for Nvidia for less vram/performance, so next gen has just been headache after headache for me, so I throw up my hands and just have a gtx 1070 again, honestly might just keep the 1070 at this point and retire until next gen or better deals come along.

It would have been nice to know this issue with 7000 series before I sold my 6800 XT though, I guess I could just buy another 6800 XT and take the 160 loss as a mistake/lesson learned to do more research before I make a big gpu move, but just very frustrating overall.

edit: like no benchmarks or anything, just like a green check mark that this new hard ware works on on this older game and all the numbers look good. that should be much less time consuming, but would still help a consumer like me
