X570 is around the corner, but ASRock hasn't forgotten the current king of gaming: Z390. The new Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 offers a new look, but the same great performance and rock solid stability ASRock has come to be known for.

In order to achieve 10 phases, ASRock has used four Intersil ISL6617A doublers located on the back of the board.

Wouldn't there need to be 5 doublers, or are there two phases that run without them?

As the article mentions, the 10-phase VRM is in a '(4 x 2) + 2 configuration '. I believe this means that it has 8 phases (which use 4 doublers) for the Vcore and 2 phases for the SOC. But... I just read these terms a lot on the internet, I'm afraid I don't exactly know what they mean. I'm not an expert, so I'm not 100% sure about what I just said anyway.

I don't know where you got that price from ($195) because all the ones I've seen have been upwards of $250.

That's a whole lotta yikes for the hardware lol.

That is correct, the two SOC phases do not use doublers.

250 would be too much for that hardware.

at least this is still cheaper than the "cheapest" X570 mobo, which is $200 or so, as per quoted by MSI's CEO.

Still looks solid board even for some decent overclocking, it seems they used quality VRMs and the heatsinks should be sufficient for high loads.

ASRock, GIGABYTE and MSI like colorful motherboards.
But did you saw how GIGABYTE made 2 premium Z390 motherboards, with angled 24pin, metal.
Look bad ass, whole motherboard is different with only one small detail...

I wish badly my motherboard with same connector.
