I've had my card for 2 weeks now, but the hotspottemps annoyed me. From day 1 they howered around 20-21C above gputemp. I decided to repaste with MX-6. Card is run undervolted at 2655@915mv and +1250MHz vram.

Stock with fans at 30% unigine superposition:

After repaste:

Re-ran tests several times. Gpu-temp dropped by 2C, hotspot by 5C.

Then I tested mining with Nicehash with fans at 50%:
Stock 61C/82C HS
Repaste 59C/76C HS

With fans on auto the stabilized at 49% stock, 41% after repaste with gpu-temp at 60C in both cases, but hotspot at 83C stock and 77C repaste.

With mining and fans at auto I get lower noise and 6C lower hotspot :)

Overall I'm satisfied with results :)
fIck, I'm already opened my "gaming" GTX1650 laptop, but haven't repasted yet, and there is MX6 laying around... maan, I'm so lazy to do it bcuz I've just bingoed free RTX3060 for 2nd desktop lmfao... no it's pointless to repaste the lappy... :DDD

Ptm7950 is go to for laptops, you can expect several degrees lower temp and never have to repaste again :)

Good for you :)

Repasting is very often worth it, unless your hotspot delta is only like 10c.

Too much paste IMO.

There is no such thing as too much paste - the only result of alot of paste is that there is more to clean up if you repaste it at a later point.

Too little paste however...

Delta is still good, usually 12C during mining, often less. Seems slightly lower mounting pressure avoided pump out :)

I repasted my 4070S with MX6 and the hotspot delta is almost always 1 digit and the temps are lowered by 2-3°C.
Weird how some people call literally one of the best performing pastes on the market garbage and that it pumps out a lot.
I went through more than 20g of MX6 on a lot of low to high end GPUs and i still have not seen a single case of pump out until now. And it's always within margin of error with kryonaut extreme on both CPU and GPU.

I think is has to do with it being thinner when warm vs some other pastes and if the plate of the gpu-cooler is not even it can cause issues. I got pump out with high mounting pressure, but it does not seem to pump out with medium mounting pressure. Probably due to the plate on my Asus-card.

Ptm7950 results after 30mins. Core 3C lower, delta 5.5C lower. So far ptm seems superior to MX-6, and it supposedly gets better after several hours when it's melted in properly :)

This is with fans at max compared to the initial 30% fans limited test. Overall temps are higher even compared to that. Doesn't seem that much better to me.
Fans are fixated at 1943rpm, I cant remember what % that is, but it is far below 100% I think. Everything is equal. Consumption, ambient temps etc so ptm7950 is 3C colder on core, 5.5C on delta.

That should be max or near it, on your first tests it was about 1000 rpm, half.
