ASUS 990FX Sabertooth Motherboard Pictured

What's the benefit of the Intel LAN on the CH5 over the Realtek LAN on all the other boards?
Also Intel chip set on an AMD board??

its not the chip-set and its the MB manufactures prerogative what sound lan or other features they want. they all make money. Whatever ASUS purchased they have there reasons for. I like realtek just as much but if it works and dosnt drop me every 5 seconds then great. Don't forget they are also releasing ASUS Bigfoot as a standalone item too.

Nice board, not a huge fan of the color scheme though.

I'd rather wait for the Crosshair V.(though it might be expensive)
yep, so do i
i prefer colorful board than this scheme

will the am3 cpu's fit in the am3+ boards ?

The usual Sabertooth board: isn't the best looking, but will prob. be very reliable and have good VRM. What I do find interesting is Asus ditching the Thermal Armor from the P67 Sabertooth.

The thermal armor trapped heat against the board, made for lousy temps.

IMO this board will need to be $180-$200 max to be worth anything if they price it in the $230+ range then there is no point your better off with a Crosshair or a Gigabyte board

I must say, I'm quite impressed by this board. If it's the right price, it wouldn't surprise me if this one becomes popular.

just found the rest of the pics put them on the first page took some digging but got them

This will probably be my next board but WHY does it have to be so damn ugly!

The color scheme isn't really important unless your trying to be all color coordinated to bling out your rig. The form vs function debate comes into play with this one, as does with a certain case fan brand namely Noctua who has awful colors for their fans hahaha, but are rather effective despite the diarreah-like shades.
I'll most likely get this vs the Crosshair 5, and judging from past history, I'm going to take a guess that the CH5 is going to be around $240+

they could of atleast tried to make the south bridge sink fit in with the rest.... :shadedshu

lazy bastards just slapped the x58 one on

well i will probably be getting the evo anyway.

That's a good point, i personally really do dislike the Sabertooths color scheme(it's got a sort of jungle vomit look to it lol), but considering it's more likely to be cheaper then the Crosshair V and it should be sufficiently reliable while having most of the features the Crosshair V has anyways, i'll definitely be considering the Sabertooth.

Though if the Crosshair V is cheap enough (which it probably won't be), i'd rather go in that direction.

If you ask me, they nailed the color scheme perfectly. We all know that the ultimate force is the one you feel when you need to go #2. Look down a few minutes later, and those are the colors you see.

You guys are funny.I dont think I ever thought about the colors on a motherboard,as long as it works.:)

:laugh:I agree, it's kind of a dark gray with shit muckel dun green:roll:

I think they are going for the military look somewhat like a battleship.

16x,4x,16x,-- is nice, 16x,--,16x,4x would be better but as long as it isnt, 16x,16x,4x,--

yes hence mentioning military every 3rd sentence... but most wont get it. I personalty like the way it looks. There is always something else if you don't. I think you meant tank.

Cost obviously Intel made a better tender offer per gazilion units

Dear boardmate Scaminatrix: 'Sabertooth range are rated for 24/7 use'

Sorry but may I hahahahahahha?
