ASUS today rolled out the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Strix Radeon RX 560 DirectCU II EVO graphics card (model: ROG-STRIX-RX560-O4G-EVO-GAMING), a variant of its custom-design RX 560 4 GB DirectCU II graphics card, which relies on the PCI-Express slot entirely for its power, and lacks any additional PCIe power inputs. ASUS seems to have made some pretty big hardware-level trade-offs to achieve slot-only power ability for this card.

The card comes with clock speeds that are below AMD-reference clocks, with 1149 MHz core, with a restrained 1187 MHz boost, and a software-enabled OC mode, which runs the GPU at 1197 MHz, against AMD-reference clocks of 1175 MHz core, 1275 MHz boost. The memory ticks at 6.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective), which is below the 7.00 GHz reference clock. What's even more curious about this card is it features just 896 stream processors, and not the 1,024 that are standard to the RX 560. The card features 4 GB of GDDR5 memory across the chip's 128-bit wide memory interface. The company didn't reveal pricing.

It should be better than gigabyte who makes terrible noise when fans starts when browsing internet, fix is to turn around pc. At least it dos not costs mere than 200. I will be possible to play games in winter on HP i5 2400.
 
So they're releasing an RX 460, but calling it RX 560 EVO? This is weird.
 
The should have named it a RX560 ECO.....

Less shaders and lower clocks but still a RX 560

What about a RX 550 LE like the HD 7870 LE was to the HD 7950

I agree. We should bring back the good ol' days when we had XTX, XT, XL, VE, GT, GTO, PRO, LE, and SE versions of each card in the lineup.

Those were much simpler times.
 
I don't know what it is exactly, but I do like the styling of the fan cooler on these ASUS models. Not really in the market for a card right now, but if I was...I'd be looking at cards with this type of cooler.

Haven't seen any reviews of these....is the RX560 about the same as the GTX 1050...or a bit better? Worse?

Yeah, you stayed away from anything that had LE or SE attached tot he name. Simple times.
 
Isn't this essentially false advertising , why call it an RX 560 ?
 
RX560D for us market.
 
They should mention it on the box that the card has only 896 shaders.
 
adversited as 560 but its a 460, good job hehe

SE (=Slow Edition) yes, but the Radeon LE was great as it could be flashed to a full Radeon 32 DDR.
