Exclusive: Muropaketti.com got the first pictures of Asus EAH3850 Trinity graphics card which is equipped with three 55 nm RV670 GPUs. Asus engineers have managed to build this proof of concept using MXM graphics modules from notebooks and AMD’s CrossFireX technology. All three MXM modules include RV670 GPU and 256 MB of memory. Two of the modules are located on back side of the PCB and the third one is on the front side. All GPUs are cooled with heatpipes which are routed to rear of the card and attached to separate liquid cooling solution. PCB has an additional 8-pin PCI Express power connector and the card features four DVI display connectors. Currently there are no information about the clockspeeds or availability. All we know so far is that the card actually works.

Thanks to Sampsa from Muro.

Whoah..whats next !?:rockout:

Awww nice! Cant wait to see what it can do!

UGH!!!, its using a TT BW  Nevertheless, its a crazy design.

I Must Have!!!!

got to say that looks kick ass! plus 4 DVI at the back haha :D I can see Thermaltake blocks also

three cheers for ATI!

Wow, I like that!
Plus great name as well, Trinity...

It looks like this card will be faster than the X2, If they make it support crossfire the all I can say is damn

it looks more like a multi monitor device to me.. not ideal for a gaming set up..

trog

yeah why it is 3850 if its for gaming purposes..thats pretty med end..btw there is now two active threads about same topic :(

ATI did the same thing with the 1600xt right? If I recall right, they introduced dual gpu's in the x16xx family (at the time a mid range card)

And with that I think it was over a year before it was available for purchase.. So I doubt we will see this thing at retailers anytime soon.. Not to mention, we still haven't any systems that will make full use of this many gpu's..

when you look at it, why is the 3870X2 called a 3870 when the X2 has DDR3, it should be called the HD3850X2

theres near no difference in the cores but the memory is different

but I didn't even know that HD3850 MXM modules existed, hell I want one for my laptop

I think this is just a pcb to test the HD3850 mxm modules
