ASUS Unleashes ROG MATRIX 5870 Overclocked Graphics Card

well ive never had to rma any of mine. but the first thing u DO ofcourse is clean up that "JOB GLOB" they put on at the factory. And im fine after that.

Seriously, Asus? You couldn't have done 900 even? What idiot gets paid to make this crap?

It's probably limited by the gpu. You can't just dial up the core speed one by one. It settles into increments (usually around 10-15), so if you tried to overclock this card, and set it to 900, it would set itself to 894.

So nvidia has a crappy clock generator, now?

Nice looking card, now hurry up ATi and release the HD5890 series:eek:

Wow, looks like a topnotch card, because the Asus DarkKnight 4870 doesn't have any of that.

that's what i waiting for

I gotta say. NICE DESIGN :)

They should put out a 5970 ROG Matrix with 8GB VRAM :p And support 10x1 Eyefinity or something crazy lol

Sapphire 2GB Toxic:

I'm really liking the Sapphire 2GB, esp if the price doesn't get gouged. I'm locked and loaded for it or the Matrix!

The only reason I'm waiting on the Matrix is for the voltage control. Sine the TOXIC is non-refference there is probablly no voltage control. If they do manage to get the Toxic working with Afterburner, then I'll take whatever is cheaper. :toast:

anyone focus on this test

i know all ATI 5xxx series fail in metro 2033 test at ultra high sitting cuz this game made for NVIDIA GTX4xx cards, but i see here the 2G version show up and leave the 1G version away, even 5970 sure cuz the 2G memory in 5970 is mirror so still same as 5870

but what that's mean, is metro support cards over 1G only at high resolution

Dude, I HATE the Dark Knight version of my 4870 1GB. It just died on me yesterday and now I'm in the market for a new card, a 5850 perhaps. At least my 4870 died a quick artifact death.
