Might have to work your way up with some training. Run Gear 4 so IMC runs 2000mhz. If they would post 7200Mhz Gear 2, then you should be able to get 8000Mhz Gear 4.

Still have the ram? Or did you send it back in? What was it? answers, we need answers!! haha kidding.
Omg, after all the tuning I did on this 6000, I don’t even care anymore lol.
I still have 4x16 7200 and 2x24 8000 Gskill kits I was testing. Haven’t returned them yet lol.

but in gear 4, would that even be worth it vs what I have here at 6600 30-38-38-38-66?

Well yeah it's worth it really. Closer to 8000mt/s and beyond, memory controller be back over 2000mhz and that would produce additional results yes.

But I mean is that would be 2000mhz/4000mt/s faster. That's a lot. Much bandwidth. CL40 8000mt/s is 10ns. Get it to CL36 and tighter, now you're fast. 9ns and faster.

I'd swap it out for sure. it's sitting there. making me jealous I haven't spent money on high freq mem myself. But Alas, muh TUF only supports up to 7200mt/s, that means 8000 would be a crap shot.

I’m not sure how much lower or really. There’s no way I can hit 8000 on this motherboard. I’ll be lucky to get one stick of ram running at 8000. Lol
You have two dims, I have four. And I have much denser memory. 32 GB sticks x2 64gb.
I’ll try to lower it though for sure.
Thank you for the suggestion.
I have a gigabyte Aorus Pro X as a backup, its also a 4 dimmer board, it runs my other 13900ks 8000MT's on memory, stable, your Dark Hero is more than capable of the doing the same (though you need to check if your IMC will let you). I already saw some people use that and also do 8000MT's on RAM.

for 6000MT's 1.2v on TX should be more than adequate, on my Son's PC (Z790 Maximus Extreme) with a 14700k, I tuned his to 7800MT's and it only uses 1.28v on TX..

Edit: I just saw you are running 2x32GB (DR) dimms, yeah you need a tad bit more for voltages..also the best you can squeeze from your board for a 64gb Dual rank kit is around 7000MT's from what I saw with some folks, but this highly depends on your IMC quality

Running any less than 1.35 on TX causes errors. I tested it yesterday.
but I do appreciate all the insight, and helps me put together a picture of what I can expect. Thank you.

Ok, but in gear 4 I thought it kind of nuked performance. You’re saying gear 4, 8000, C40 beats gear 2, 6600, C30 in a meaningful way?
I care about 4k gaming really so that’s my metric by the way lol.

for what frequency? you may want to look into the AI tweaker menu options to get your IMC graded there is an option menu on the lower end of the page with "get IMC SP" you just run that and on next boot up when you go to the same menu the IMC SP Rating would display there.

Well if its 5% from Jedec to 6000, anther couple percent to 6600, I figure a couple more percent for high frequency 8000mt/s may be a total of 10 to 15% performance increase over stock. Results vary.
