Audio starts crackling, then PC becomes unresponsive

I've had this issue since I got my new computer with Radeon 6000 and Ryzen 7000 series parts roughly a year ago.

Every so often after starting my computer for the first time after a while of it being off, the audio starts crackling. It keeps getting worse for a few minutes, then my inputs stop responding, until error message sounds appear and my screen goes black.
The computer is still on, but I can't do anything with it. I have to hard reset it to get it to work again. It only happens after a 'cold start' and I can't actually see what the error messages I'm getting are saying since nothing is responding.
It only happens when audio is playing or I'm in a game that takes effort to run.

I have updated drivers for graphics and audio, but nothing seems to have helped. I also have Voicemeeter installed if that makes any difference.
I've not seen anybody have this exact issue before but I have seen similar problems. Hopefully this is something easy that I missed.

Is your BIOS up to date? Are your chipset drivers up to date? Also, I'd try uninstalling Voicemeeter to see if it fixes the problem.

It's possible you are running out of memory due to something. Which OS ?

Check in Event Viewer for WHEA Error 17 - Corrected Hardware Error entries.

If there are no events, in BIOS enable Advanced Error Reporting (AER), wait for the problem to repeat, and check again in Event Viewer.

Most parts are new, the previous graphics card was a 1660 Super, which i later switched to a 6600 XT. The only remaining parts from my old system is the graphics card and the OS drive. Windows 10 may have gotten bugged when switching from an Intel to an AMD system, but I'm not entirely sure.
The computer has a Ryzen 7600 processor, 32gb of DDR5 at 4800MHz and an MSI B650M-P motherboard.

Since it's not an urgent issue for me, I'm not posting that often here. It's essentially impossible to recreate it consistently too, which makes it difficult to troubleshoot.

Get a CPUz screenshot of all the info tabs and then a screen shot of task manager to see what resources are being utilized

Sounds like the driver crashed and failed to recover.

Next time it happens, try hitting all these keys together at once. Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B.

That will restart the driver subsystem and should produce a display within 3 seconds.

Never done a reformat, haven't known how.
Use your Windows installation media and remove the OS drive's partitions, then do a reinstall. It formats it as well.

Just be 100% sure of the drive so you don't wipe other partitions.
