Auzentech announced today the release of Dolby Digital Live support for the X-Fi Prelude Soundcard. A real-time encoding technology, Dolby Digital Live converts any audio signal into a Dolby Digital bitstream for transport and playback through a home theater system. With it, your PC or game console can be hooked up to your Dolby Digital-equipped audio/video receiver or digital speaker system via a single digital connection. All Auzentech X-Fi Prelude owners may now proceed to the free soundcard driver update download link.

looks like thats the card im buying. does anyone know if there will evre be a DTS live encoder?

W000000000000000TTTTTTTT. That makes my day!!!!!

Asus has a kick ass sound card that is better than the Xfi and Auzentech. I believe the DSP they use is strikingly similar to the DSP Oxygen sensor that Auzeentech uses,.

Auzen XFi Prelude is the best sounding card on planet Earth:p Nothing comes even close.

The Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional is the best performing card with games, on planet Earth. Nothing comes even close. :p

EDIT: The best sounding card was the X-Meridian, it's no more in production.

'bout time!

Now if only Creative would get on the ball for their lineup :ohwell:

Driver works awesome, just remember it is a software solution for DDL. DTS is coming as well. I still recommend it as I love this card.

i want this card so bad!!

Okay...I tried playing Saw III (DD version DVD with Cyberlink PowerDVD)

Well yes it defi is a little more voluminous now. But at times it is getting choppy.

it wasn't doing that before the new driver? That's a little odd for Auzen to release a driver even a little buggy.

No, it wouldn't decode DD using the SPDIF co-axial to my Sony HT system. It would only do PCM multi-channel. With DD it's definitely sounding better especially stuff like projectiles, etc. But I did notice certain places with a little "snow" and some chops....very faint though...don't confuse this with the chops you hear when playing a multi-channel game with a Realtek codec. This is nowhere near that. But well since this the first driver to implement DD, I'm not complaining.

good stuff to hear, then. Just immature drivers for a new feature - which should mean Auzen might be releasing some more updated sets of drivers over the next few months as they work bugs out.

I still wish Creative would get off their ass . . . but, their big issue right now is Vista drivers

Yeah...another thing I noticed was:

Earlier when switching bw Game and Entertainment modes, sometimes it would give out a loud hissing sound....like old TVs without signals make "hissssss". That is totally gone.

:nutkick:.....this is to Microsoft for disintegrating DirectSound from Vista (DX 10)

BTW, this driver for the Auzen card....it was made by Creative.
