Yes I heard CTE was busier…I also realized it probably wasn't showing and registering kills and deaths when I tried it as there was less than 4 players so round hadn't started. We did seem to get points though so that threw me off.

One thing about CTE that I've noticed is that it seems like almost all players in the server are ptfo. Rounds can be quite intense sometimes and usually end up closer then you think.

The only thing different so far is they've increased the tick to 30 for the surrounding environment. To me it still feels the same as normal BF4 and the results seem mixed. Possibly tomorrow they will release the update that will reduce the 1P shake with explosions.

My advice is to jump in the TDM/Dom servers (if they're busy) and unlock some stuff before jumping in to Conquest. Everything has 3xp plus what ever boost you add it so you rank up and unlock things quick. That being said, if you jump straight in to Conquest first, you're going to get destroyed and it's going to be very frustrating.

Shoot me a friend request if you want to. It's always nice to have someone to play with to find bugs and test things with. As it is right now, I've only got 1 person on my friends list that is in CTE.

This makes sense to a degree. People bothering to download and join something like this in the first place are generally going to be more serious and experienced players.

I played three rounds of Dom/TDM to get some unlocks. I did think it felt pretty damn good, but I couldn't tell if it was just a placebo effect or if it just felt different because I was starting out with a new fresh soldier. Things just seemed to be very responsive and smooth, but at the same time it felt like I was moving a touch slower, or something, it's very hard to explain.

Anyone remember the Counterstrike Source shield glitch? Throw gun on ground. Hold shield out. Pick up gun. Gun is now glitched out with the shield so you are now Robocop!

I think a lot of people will come back to BF4 once they put out the retail client patch that gives you the option to change the tick rate being sent to the player to at max 30 ticks. High rate of fire guns are no longer the masters (as much) any more.

Saw in the forums that the death shield is still present in CTE. I guess the first CTE build got compiled right before the death shield fix was finished. jjju said that the next update (for CTE) would have the fix. Said that is going to be either Friday or Saturday depending on where you are in the world. Just letting any one who's playing CTE know this in case they're on the 24/7 Lockers server.

The fast tick option in the game menu may be coming in the Dragon Teeth DLC patch. The way the DICE guys in the forums are talking, they would like to have this ready for the next patch (when ever that will happen).

They're also asking for help to find and fix any map exploits. So if any one knows of some, link a video (if you can) or give a really good detail description so we can go get video to show.

In CTE it is an option. I have no idea how they plan to finally implement it, but from the way the DICE guys are talking it will be an option in the game menu (defaults to high). The idea is to give those with better connections (ie faster connections) the option to get more frequent updates. That's all the option is going to do. It only effects the rate at which you get updates. It does not effect the rate at which you send updates. There was also an update today that changed a few things with packet loss. Seemingly all players are reporting it to be a good change.

Trust me, when this finally gets released, this will be a very good thing and everyone will be glad for CTE. I was one of those players has had a bad experience with the game since launch. It it better then what it was, but in general I feel like I'm usually playing a crapshoot outside of CTE.
