Ive tried loads, and this thread will just get flooded with suggestions, but when I want a manager I use Orbit.
Best one IMO, tried flashget, free downloads manager, and loads more, that was best one i could find, main reason i liked it was that it was ad free and did what it said on the tin without being intrusive.

Main advantages:
- Being able to pause and resume downloads, even between shutdowns
- Using mutliple sources or mirrors to increase the download speed to work around server bandwidth caps
For example, Relatek's servers are incredibly slow and you have to have a lot of patience to download from their site without a download manager

I don't know who Relatek is, but I assume you mean Realtek...which would be drivers...which should be rather small.
Thanks for the info. I see why I have not ever needed or used a download manager. I torrent.
P.S. By the way, if you are downloading large legal files, my suggestion is to switch to torrents instead of direct downloads. While it can be slower at times, when it comes to files maintained on servers that are 24/7 it is a beautiful thing.

Yeah I meant realtek, but their drivers are about 20-30mb, and they come down at less than 10kb/s a second sometimes

That sucks. I get my drivers from a weird array of random places. One site I have bookmarked torrents drivers, so I usually go through them, Windows/Linux Update, or driverguide.com.
