I had a G7 that I used for eons, I loved that mouse. Now I am using a G502 Hero.. its ok. I also have a Zowie EC2 Evo, my kid is using it now.
I had that mouse. it was amazing. loved swapping the batteries and the weight you could add(whops thinking of a different mouse). shame they dont made quality gear today

I was a hardcore loitech fan since their 3 button pilot and before they started with their gay "logi"

Replacement 80 million click switches are cheap

So was the 2nd SS wireless for a mere $20, well to me if the feather light switches they will break real soon for me and the ones used in the SS wireless need a little extra force. Point is i have never had to change them. The actual mouse casing worn more than the switches used in it haha, that i did change.

I all so drilled little holes ( slowly ) in to the pads so i would not have replace them again, yes you are best doing it slow so the pad don't rise around the drill hole.

Speaking of Logitech, I am still mad they have never made a modernized G9X.

Used to run one with the Precision grip shell installed and, later on, without any shell at all. The “short and wide” shape with nice deep comfort grooves in the buttons was just great for fingertip, as it turns out. Yeah, by modern standards it’s a brick even without the weights, the cable was horrible dogshit and the sensor had issues, but the shape… man. Would love to see a modern take on that with reduced weight and current wireless tech. Instead, Logitech cancelled it and proclaimed for some inane reason that they consider the G502 (kill me) to be the successor. Absolute clowns.

Edit: Just realized that I had already posted vaguely the same thing when the thread was started. Lol. Well, I’ll keep this one too. My disdain for modern day Logitech demands it.

wires can be resoldered and switches are pretty easy to disassemble and clean with wd40/contact cleaner

Resoldering a connector is no easy task and why fix a low-quality switch when one can replace it with one that will last a lot longer.

I like to think that my repairs will last longer than the original.

A very subjective topic this is, but imo the "best mouse ever made" is one that fits the users hand comfortably & doesn't break down.
