As my wife enjoy's watching me play 1st\3rd shooter game's with a good story, Wolfenstein (the one b4 the last ) got her to sleep pretty dam fast it bored her that much. That's some one who can sit and watch me play games like FO3\V GTA's ME1\2\3 for endless hours.

We never got the last one part due to how bad that was in fact it was( kind is still a joke if she cannot sleep.

To me story wise game play was alright how ever story like most of their game's are pretty dam weak.

As for Dishonored, now that was much different story to most of the pretty much other crap they come out with.

Pure LOL here folks!

Got a source on TES VI? That's pretty interesting news... not in the least because that would require a serious revamp of the idTech engine... I mean, its nice for cool shooters, but for lots of interaction with objects and environment??
Google the announcement.

For other lazy bones ...

Bethesda is not using idtech for TES, are they?

They've hinted at a new engine, but idtech? Carmack himself said it wasn't possible for those type of games. For past idtech at least.

I'm curious though why Carmack once said that (too lazy to dig up the article now). It'd be a coup if Bethesda could actually utilize one engine for all games. Unreal has been converted to MMOs. And Frostbite managed to be semi-openworld with DAI (although to be honest, the better levels were actually the small ones.. like the swamp/bog level).

They did that with Dragon Age and Fallout. Frostbite wasnt really new, it just took a different direction of very very early Unreal engine.

TES VI may be based on idTech 7. That's going to add years to the development time but it will most likely be worth it. TES has been long overdue for a complete technology overhaul.

That... actually makes a lot of sense. More sense, indeed, than Bethesda creating a brand-new MMO engine from scratch. As others have noted, though, will idTech be up to the task, or is it capable of being updated to support large virtual worlds? I guess idTech 5 did okay with a large map in RAGE... interesting times.

I enjoyed both Wolfenstein games from Machine Studios (Bethesda). The added content into Wolf II has also been fun to play, the additional chapters. I am glad to see a third coming out, I enjoy single player campaign games.

I just started playing Wolfenstein since the 2014 reboot and have enjoyed all 3 titles. Matter of fact, just last night I was playing The New Colossus.

I can't say it has the most immersive storyline, but it certainly isn't bunk.

I had a lot of fun with TNC too. That said, somehow it doesn't manage to hold a candle to Doom 2016.

But they are two different games with two different game styles. Doom was and is a great game, especially being one of the first to go all in with Vulkan, it opened the market of that game to a wider audience. Very much looking forward to the next installment as well. The game play footage looks great, new weapons, and the destruction mechanism on enemies is cool.

But Wolfenstein, while they used to be in the same vein, back in the floppy disk days, are different now. The new wolfenstein games allow you to adjust your gameplay. So instead of just %110 full speed ahead, like doom, you can move slow and stealthy in Wolf. As well, having the ability to dual wield and drive Liesel around was cool :).

I loved Doom 3, and then Doom 2016 blew my mind; both were very immersive and I definitely felt very isolated and like a 1-man army far from Earth.

You make a great point and I like the option between styles although I wouldn't count that as a negative with Doom. In Wolfenstein, many times I feel like stealthing through the beginning of an area for easy silent shots while I scope the area out for angles and general layout and then finishing up with blazing guns.

Not a negative at all. It was one of my main points on why these are two different games. DOOM is if I want to pickup a game, play for 30 -45 minutes, just hop in and kick ass :) . At least until I get past the levels final boss and am worn out and need to put it down, haha.

Yeah, I was just adding that; I didn't take it that way.

I feel ya about the need to take a break. I play all single player games on the hardest setting except Doom 2016 because I'm not going to go insane attempting to beat the game with one life and I would usually go 1-2 levels and take a break. =]
