Taiwan-based Biostar Microtech has this week released a new motherboard supporting AMD's FM1 APUs (A8, A6, A4 and E2 Series). Dubbed A55MLV, the board is powered by the AMD A55 chipset, has a micro ATX for factor, and features two DDR3-1866 memory slots, four SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, plus one PCI-Express x16 and one PCI slot.

The A55MLV also has 10/100 Ethernet, 5.1-channel audio, and a D-Sub output, and is selling for 40 Euro.

FM-1?

Huh, an odd time to come out with an FM-1 motherboard.

Biostar prolly didn't get the memo yet that Trinity is finally out. Its ok Biostar, AMD is a little slow with these things too.

Well, it is cheap, and it makes a lot of sense. If this was FM2 it would be a real winner.

Thanks for giving me a chuckle here at work!

for low end board it looks not bad

That's actually not bad for the low end market (I mean counting pennies/cents low end), would be perfect with Non-For-Profit organisations also IMO. Choice of FM1 socket makes sense for this market segment also as the FM1 socket AMD APUs will get cheaper as FM2 launches.

The funny thing is that our company have been buying these exact boards from Biostar for nearly an year already!!!
