VR HMD Samsung Oddyssey, not that I'd plug it into this though....
Software W10 21H1, barely
Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
So 5M copies at $60 = $300M and EGS takes a 10% cut so Randy's made $30M for a $10.5M investment.
Hey may be an evil narcissist but he's not stupid.

I think EGS takes a 12% cut since B3 uses the Unreal Engine 4 but I think Sweeney is looking at long term gain from the Epic exclusives. He needed gamers to sign up for his store and the best way was through exclusives and free games. One of his main goals is to get people to buy games from Epic and not Steam in the future. imo most gamers will just go back to Steam for the non-exclusives because it is a superior service but Sweeney is hoping after all the exclusives is over with some gamers will still buy from Epic.

I don't know when the EGS exclusives will end but Sweeney has already said that they can't go on forever.

Been playing story mode with friends and only have 5-10 hours in so far. I'm enjoying the gun play, but will have to do a play through by myself since I feel like I'm missing some of the dialogue due to chatting while playing. I personally haven't noticed too many bugs aside from a massive framerate drop when ADS with a scoped weapon. Thankfully, hipfire is OP in this game.

Again,if thats all someone thinks of BL3 then that person either doesn't know all the differences or the serie itself and should play it first.
I've been playing BL since the first day of BL 1 and BL 3 feels fairly different than BL 2,even more if someone actually followed the in game mechanics and how stuff works in general.

But yes I agree that a BL game should stay as a BL game and not try to be way too different, its good as it is imo and thats why I love this serie.

Btw I don't even play Co-op. :)

I played BL1 and 2 front to back several times and BL2 up to level cap, so yeah, I know how it works :) I've also got about 3k hours played in ARPGs with similar loot systems... and mechanics... :D

But BL3 still is more of the same, much like Torchlight 1 and 2 are straight up sequels. Feels different... nah. It really doesn't. Its not a negative, its just what it is. If you haven't figured that out yet, level scaling will set you right soon enough, no worries.

Well to me it does feel way more satisfying/different to play than the previous games,I kinda disliked the difficulty scaling in BL 2 for example especially when they introduced the OP levels.
Hope that never makes a return in BL 3,Mayhem could use some tweaking with the modifiers but its already a better system imo.

Currently ~64 hours in BL 3,doing TVHM story on Mayhem 2 with an Elemental Build Amara and so far its all good.

On a side note I really wonder what did ppl expect,I mean ppl who are actually complaining that the game is not different enough.
If someone bothered to make a list of differences/changes between BL 1/2/3 then theres plenty and about the right ammount I would say so I'm really not sure.

I've mainly aimed that comment at ppl who only see the same Art style graphics and that it has guns, etc and based on that they say that the game is the same.I've also read a few of the reviews and some of those were just hard to read cause the reviewer was clearly clueless.
Some even gave the game negative score cause of the humor, uhm excuse me but thats how Borderlands is by default and its a part of this serie.:wtf:

I'm also a big fan of any game with RPG+Loot elements, playing this genre since Diablo 1/2 and if these games wouldn't play the way they do then I wouldn't even play them but that doesn't mean that they aren't different in various ways.

The thing that I remember from Borderlands 2 was that the difficulty was all over the place. Mostly it was easy but there were a few exceptions where the difficulty went up and I'm not talking about a boss fight. There was one point in the game where I was supposed to be defending something and a flood of enemies came after what I was defending and before I could kill them all they destroyed what I was defending. It was one of the points where it would have been fun in co-op but it was overwhelming just playing on single player. I finally got past that but it was frustrating. There comes a point where sometimes in B2 the game went beyond challenging and became frustrating. I don't know how Developers don't catch these things in games before release.

Yea BL 2 wasn't exactly solo friendly at higher diffs, sure it was doable with certain builds mixed with specific weapons but the whole thing was way over the top imo with the crazy numbers and whatnot.

That was my biggest concern before buying BL 3 cause I do not play BL 3 with others but so far its alright difficulty wise since they did change the damage/number scaling.
its more like something closer to what TPS had, will see how the following DLCs change this but I hope they wont go over their head again like in BL 2.

Also glad that they got rid of Slag mechanics, even they admited at some point that it was 'bad'.
Droprates were also garbage at the relase of BL 2 and only became better later,BL 3 had it set too high even and they already nerfed it but its still far better than the previous game.

BL2 in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is a pain to go solo. You need to slag enemy first and then switching to other elemental weapon that suit them to be effective. Unless you have powerful legendary weapon for your build (Norfleet, Conference Call, Slagga etc.) you going to have a hard time.

Anyone running BL3 on a GTX 970 GPU / 1920 x 1080 setup?
Are considering buying BL3 - but not sure if the GPU can handle it.....

Well I'm not trying to convince anyone, its just how I feel about the game so far and thats why I hope the DLCs wont 'ruin' it later with whatever they might bring to the game.

Don't get me wrong the game does have its issues and I agree that the 'story' part in BL 2 was arguably better with Handsome Jack but if you can overlook that then its a pretty solid fun game after BL 2.

it'll run fine on that:

45-60fps on ultra settings, 60-75fps on high settings.

It will run but those start of the game benchmarks are kinda misleading cause the later game/higher level playing is more demanding with tons of effects and enemies on the screen which is pretty common later on.

I would say a mix of medium/high/ultra settings like the vid I've posted earlier in the topic is suitable for a GTX 970.

I'm runnning it with a RX 570 and its playable but there are drops down to 40-45 in bigger fights. 'Solo play,co-op is probably even worse'

The main thing is that it scales well enough. The 970 will run absolutely fine at a mix of medium/high settings.

Here it is running fluidly using 1080p medium/high mix on an old GTX 960 2GB, which is significantly slower than the 970.
