Build complete! Any thoughts on undervolting?

I recently posted this build before it was completed, now it's all done and running really great in my opinion.
Stays well under 90 deg when under full load/benchmarking.
I'd love to know if it's worth undervolting anything at this point or just general pointers or even potential overclocking ideas.

A mild uv -0.75mv as well.

There are tangible benefits to undervolting. Reduced temps being the biggest, reduced power usage is another. You'll have to tinker(naturally) to find the best voltage your system can run stable at. Remember to use offset voltage settings instead of absolute voltages as offsets scale better with clock speed changes.

Thanks! I've undervolted CPU core and cache and the temps dropped a bit under load. I logged playing COD from 8:00pm onwards to show the temps difference. Anything else worth adjusting? I'll go and try undervolting more till the limit tomorrow but wanted to get a start on it.

I took it to -80 but I got a worse single core score than when it was at -75 and only a marginal increase in multi score. Any other suggestions for settings?

If this is the best your CPU can do for you, I'd stick with the -.80 and call it good. The differences in performance are margin of error and you'll not see them in games or anything else except benchmarks. Are your temps better?

...but i´ll take bios screenshots that your bios itself does provide with an F1-12 key, yes?

i´m really unsure if speedstep and speedshift are finally on or off?

Temps are better marginally as well, instead of 85 approx, it runs around 80-83 on average

Thr under-volt causes effective clock rate to droop and why the score lowers.

Want to set long term power limits to 180w enforced, otherwise power limits are lifted by default.

If wanting power limits lifted without loss of performance, utilize LLC with v-core settings auto. MSI boards are backwards, higher number LLC is actually lowers load line calibration. So use second to highest LLC setting.

Otherwise, if it's under 100c with anything you do at defaults, just leave it alone. You're shaving off single digit temps but dropping the scores significantly.

Suggesting Bios options for 13th and 14th gen is trICKY.

So safety first.
Try and find "IA VR voltage Limit" and/or "CPU Core voltage caps"
Asus needs me to put 1450 as a value for max 1.450 vcore.
Set it as a safeguard for wonky vrms and bad bios settings.

corrections:
You seem to have set your ring to 3200.
Isn´t 4.2 Ghz the default value, so 4200?

Since you already halved the CPU IMC : DRAM clock 1:2 please check that the ram runs in N1 and not N2, or you run at 1:4.

The rams XMP settings of 36 44/96 are simply worse than the unofficial "common" standard of 6000CL30.

At those speeds any a-die and m-die ram can run cl30 as well, despite its xmp settings, IF you or the board set some secoondaries correctly.
Buildzoid posted very compatible and tight cl26 m-die ram settings that never failed me with 6000 sticks. Search the web, sift through his videos or pay yourself to them via patreon.

IF you ever run with manual adaptive vcore settings:
set SA voltage to 1.15; going up if really needed.



fyi:
Since you are thermally bound "with air cooling - there is an age old trick:

Finding your lowest adaptive manual vcore with ac_ll set to 0.01 results in the least amount of generated heat at any chosen frequency.

That info has baggage.
Like deactivating one of two compensating pumps, that heat up the loop by themselves - kinda baggage.
But since it really runs cooler (on air cooling) than any other ac setting, it´s hard to disagree with completely.

To be honest I'm having a hard time following on these suggestions. However I updated the BIOS to 2025, but now I'm getting limit warnings with VMAX being triggered and EDP other. Before the BIOS update I never got any previously.

The warnings are there for a reason, I'd not remove them by reverting to an old BIOS.

Tread very carefully! The cautions and warnings are there to prevent you from doing harm to your parts. Crossing certain lines will do damage that can never be fixed.

Undervolting is worth it imo. I undervolted my 1080 ti to 950 mV. It used about 40w less, runs at the boost clock almost permanently and runs cooler. So basically I haven’t found a single reason to go back to the stock voltage.

(it runs at 1911 mhz at about 190w, before it was somewhere In the 1800mhz to 1900mhz range at about 230w, temps dropped from around 80 to around 70 and I slowed the fans down)

I want to thank everyone who has helped me, I did a bit more research these last couple days and went through and made some major changes.
1st, want to ref the Valour549 ultimate guide which really helped analyze my issues. Firstly the BIOS had undervolt protect on, so it wasn't making any changes to the CPU this whole time... o_O

With that disabled now! Here are the other changes I made!

BIOS
1. Disabled Virtualization Technology
2. Enabled Tower Air cooler

Throttlestop
1. (see new screenshots)

RESULTS
1. Cinebench multi score is +2,000 now. :D
2. Temps MAX at 84C (see new TXT file for log running 10 min Cinebench multi test).
3. No more alerts or warnings whatsoever! :peace:

OTHER FINDINGS (please advise as to why this is happening/anyone's thoughts).
As I was adjusting the turbo groups for performance cores, when I adjusted group 5 (see IMG images for reference) from 49->50 the PKG power increases 15W and the temps run 5-6C+ hotter then running at 49. I left it at 49 as I tested having group 2-4 at 51 which made no difference overall in temp changes or PKG power.

Any thoughts as to the reason behind this?

NOTE: I don't have Speed Shift EEP enabled as from my understanding, it's not necessary and SpeedStep is outdated correct?

Let me know if you have any other suggestions!
