Agreed. Acer too.The easiest thing to do there is to stay far away from big name brands like HP, Dell/Alienware and the likes as they're most likely the ones to use proprietary parts in their Pre Built PC's
Too bad there isn't an ATX Form Factor type standard for laptops. If there were, there would be a thriving self-build industry for them too. But no way will all the major players ever come together with a consensus like that again, like they did with PCs back in the day when they all had a common enemy in IBM.
