more importantly: who still wears watches?

What i am more curious to find out is how the FURY is capable or those speeds at 4K with only 4GB of ram... is it a driver or game engine optimization?

The game doesn't really require more VRAM than the Fury X has. It just uses more when it's available on other cards.

From the review: "Using a GTX Titan X, which has 12 GB of VRAM, we tested the game's memory usage. As you can see, the game uses a ton of video memory, which is in line with what we've seen from previous Call of Duty titles. However, as the performance results in the next section show, even cards with less VRAM have no problems delivering a good framerate, so it's probably just the engine trying to fill up video memory as much as possible, even with assets that might not be needed at all."

The game engine simply reserves more vram if they are available but don't really use them unless necessary.

infinitwo

i'm going to guess it's reducing game vram usage in case it's needed for resolution or framebuffer or any other resolution side effects that could affect frame time stability or accidental over-allocation
