The Chinese Communist Party morphed into the The Chinese Authoritarian Mercantilist Party sometime after they entered the WTO back in the 1990s and that entry was thanks to the Clinton administration.
Your point? Sounds a lot like mine with an injection of blame.

SMIC didn't steal the design because Taiwan is a part of China.
These chips are for internal use only, for government and military equipment

LMAO @ IP rules...Because the blameless USA totally didn't steal industrial tech from Europe in the 19th/20th century.

Not to mention the #1 reasons IP transfers happened to china all boils down to "BUT MY OWN GREED FORCED MY WESTERN HAND"

How it worked with German companies: "ah, we have to innovate anyway, they will steal our old stuff, we'll invent new".

Germany pioneers wind power generation. China gets involved, fast forward to 2022: last German company in that market is shutting down.
Makes me remember the segway "incident" :)

That Tweet was probably written by Intel. They are the only Corp to really benefit from the $50B pkg deal.

It's only one chip so far, and bitcoin miners are hardly advanced technology. Time will tell if more advanced designs can be produced.

SMIC didn't steal the design because Taiwan is a part of China.
These chips are for internal use only, for government and military equipment, no matter how old senile Uncle Sam tries to stop China, it still prevails.
Taiwan is not a part of China it's a sovereign nation. If China tries to change that. It will be in a world of pain!!

Intel is the biggest, but wouldn't the others also benefit from it?
like GloFlo, L3Harris, qualcomm, etc

Qualcomm is like AMD, designs chips but is fabless. This is for foundry companies. GloFlo will benefit, but to a much lesser extent than Intel, as they are not on the latest nodes. Texas Instruments probably will not receive much at all, not being in the same type of market.
