My guess would be EA/Need For Speed.
Can't wait for Grid 2. All of Codemasters' racing games are pretty boss.
If I had to take a guess, #1 must be Polyphony Digital. GT5 sold pretty well. But that's consoles, where CM is trying to compete with it's F1 series. On the PC, the simulation crown belongs either to rFactor, or SimBin's titles.
As for rally...most stay with the classics (CMR, RBR, etc...)...or Dirt3 for the graphics/sounds.
If you really want to stretch the definition of racing, wouldn't Nintendo be #1 with its Mario Kart series?
