Yup. It's the interconnect between the northbridge (on CPU or off) and the southbridge and has been that bridge since 2004 (ICH6). Since QPI consumed the FSB, DMI is the only thing left on the motherboard for Core i5 processors.Do you see the QPI between the CPU and NB dice on the processor? DMI is not the system bus, it's the chipset interconnect.
QPI is between the cores, IMC, and northbridge.
