Yup. It's the interconnect between the northbridge (on CPU or off) and the southbridge and has been that bridge since 2004 (ICH6). Since QPI consumed the FSB, DMI is the only thing left on the motherboard for Core i5 processors.
QPI is between the cores, IMC, and northbridge.
