Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the Flash Voyager USB 3.0 family of USB flash drives.

The new Flash Voyager USB 3.0 models bring SuperSpeed USB 3.0 performance to the Flash Voyager family, and share the same durable rubber housing and stylish looks that have made the Flash Voyager family a favorite of consumers looking for fast, reliable, and portable data storage. All Flash Voyager USB 3.0 models are shockproof, water-resistant, backward compatible with USB 2.0/USB 1.1, and provide easy plug-and-play compatibility with most operating systems.

"The faster read speeds offered by USB 3.0 make high-speed data storage much more convenient," said Thi La, Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair. "For example, high-bandwidth videos can be viewed directly from the USB drive, so you no longer have to wait while they are copied to a hard drive or SSD."

Flash Voyager USB 3.0 USB flash drives will be available worldwide in April from Corsair's network of authorized retailers at a suggested retail price (in the United States) of $19.99 USD for the 8GB version, $29.99 USD for the 16GB version, and $69.99 USD for the 32GB version.

awesome prices

Reads, writes and warranty??

Too bad these drives are butt ugly. Always were and always will be it appears.

prices look good hopefully the speeds are better than the 2.0 variants otherwise it's just another gimmick.

still though I might pickup the 16gb version

That is hilarious considering the USB 2.0 one tops out at what like 30MB/sec? This is the kind of stuff that still has me convinced that USB 3.0 is a gimmick, so far anyways. Just a way for them to charge more and make more profit without providing any performance improvements.

how is this hilarious? how is USB 3 a gimmick? Having a External HDD transfer at 100+ MBps vs 28MBps is a huge difference

Prices are ok, about the same as those super talent express duo drives (the blue ones) that have been out for a while now. The speed will be a key factor.

Also hopefully these aren't gigantic like the flash voyager GTR, I have an original flash voyager and it measures 80mm x 25mm (which is already big for a flash drive IMO) and the GTR is 108mm x 29mm. It doesn't sound like much of a difference but the GTR just seems huge, especially if you want to put it in your pocket. Compare that to the super talent drive I was talking about which is 68mm x 17mm.

Prices are very good. Now if the drive reads and writes in the 100s Id be very happy. My 2.0 drives top out around 30.
