For next month German company Compucase has planned the European release of another Cougar-branded PC chassis, the Evolution BO. This 'Super Midi-Tower' is a variation of the already-available Evolution model and features a black/orange color scheme, a steel structure, support for micro ATX and ATX motherboards, and a top-mounted 3.5-inch/2.5-inch SATA drive dock.

The Evolution BO measures 223 (W) x 523 (D) x 514 (H) mm, and has an I/O panel with two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, a built-in fan controller, six external 5.25-inch bays (with tool-free mounting systems), four internal 3.5-inch trays, eight PCI slots, one 120 mm Vortex HDB fan installed at the rear (up to six more fans can be installed), and two pre-drilled holes for watercooling tubing (found at the back).

According to its maker, the Evolution BO will hit stores priced at 99 Euro.

Nice lookin' case, the top mounted external HDD port is first for me, cool idea!

I like the look, how are they on build quality tho?

There have been other cases with the same thing but not many. I can't recall any of them. :P

Anyway, not a fan of the colours. It looks like Cougar though, so I guess it's all good.

I'm sure the Antec Dark fleet had one

Cougar you say?... hmmm... sounds nearly as tempting as MILF :)

I personally wouldn't use the top HDD port but i can see how it would be handy for some user's, there prolly are a few case's with that feature just i don't know them. I wonder if they'll make it available in different colour's as limiting to only black/red they cut out some of the market IMHO. I'd prefer an all black version myself....

I'm sure build quality is on par with other mfg's although i have never handled any "Cougar" product's other than the opposite sex :D

Did someone say MILF?!?! Some women are like a fine wine or a good cheese, they get better with age :pimp:

This is one of those cases that looks like a child's toy to me. I'm pretty sure I had a laser gun that would go quite well with this...

No rubber grommets? :(

Note: Use this case only in a well-ventilated area....

you muthafuckers!!! i got one of these and im modding it to look JUST like that.....

fuck you

really

fuck you!!!

A lot of case's have gone this way, i don't find it over the top though as some i have seen are REALLY toy like. Don't you get tired of looking at the same rectangular box all the time?

No rubber grommets? :(

Could be in the accessories package? I would hope they were anyways, especially in a 99 euro case!

Even though all that plastic is mat it still looks nasty, sure if that plastic was metal it cost more but dam it look 100 times better.

I think the BO stinks. ;) :p

I like the colors and the design now they need to make one with dust filters.
Also why put EVOLUTION on the side in blue letters?

looks like a revised coolermaster CM690

Agreed... it looks a bit like a huge toy.

We like not being saddled with dumb profanity filters here. Please don't ruin that for us. That said, I can understand your pain.

Where was this case when I had black and orange DFI 775 boards?

And add the CM 690 II to the list of cases with the top mounted drive. Not sure which was technically first nor when but yeah it sure wasn't this one. This case kinda reminds me of that one actually in other ways too.

I like how they were smart enough to place the water cooling holes at the top of the case in the back and not running down the side in the back sideways. I never understood the odd positioning of the holes on my antec cases and other cases with water cooling holes as well for that matter.

I like the way everything is setup, more color options or just black and some colored fans though please.

I hope you keep building nice cases design wise like this one seriously. I will buy one next year probably at this point.

I find there's plenty of variation outside of the space ship/laser gun cases, but hell, there's even plenty of space ship-like cases that don't have the "cheap toy" aesthetic (NZXT comes to mind).

No crappy marketing video for this one? The one with that other Cougar case got some nice :wtf::roll::eek::confused:-moments out of me.

CM 690 II again anyone? I suppose this adds a bit more aggressiveness to the design. Although it reminds me a lot of the 690 II, I like it.

EDIT: Actually make that an aggressive looking 690 II with a HAF X side panel. :D

Actually, i was going to say that, but nowadays it seems the 690II is the holy mother of cases anyways. While this one certainly has a couple of elements taken from the 690II, it's not a total ripoff (like the Nexus Prominent R is) and has its own, somewhat unique style.

Also, did anyone notice how they installed hardware but didn't install any PSU cables? Was routing the cables be such a disaster that they couldn't show it off? :D

Yeh agree about the unique style, oh and along with the missing PSU cables, the CPU fan seems rather small to me.
