Never played ANY of the original Crysis - will definitely pick up this remastered version - all brand new to me and play it for the very first time. :)

Still haven't finished original Half Life or Black Mesa from last Christmas. Still playing in Surface Tension, I'm in the super loot room with all the goodies. lol

stuck in their own loop

This is a great observation. Its true. Gaming is all about loops, in fact. Even game design has the gaming loop as an integral part of most concepts. The loop of 'enter match, collect loot, upgrade' for example.

And its easy to get stuck into because these loops are tailor made to keep us going.

Cool - I would definitely be interested in buying this if it's available on either GOG or Steam (as long as it doesn't require additional DRM sign in layers like Origin, etc.)

for the very first time - Nintendo Switch.
WOW! Didn't see that coming. But to be fair the Tegra X1 the Switch is based on is leaps and bounds more powerful than even the best GPU's of the time the original Crysis came out. One year later and a steady 60FPS was easily done. Only one problem with the Switch version: No keyboard and mouse support(unless I've missed something?!?)...

Thanks never played any of the series. I will now buy Crysis 1 & test on my classic PC. ..AMD FX-60.

EDIT: Is Crysis 1 windows 7 64 bit compatible.

EDIT2: Just bought this game, DVD Rom on it's way.
While it's good to have the disc's, the completely DRM free version on GOG is the most up to date version you can get;
Crysis Warhead too;
GOG for the win my friend!

A must-have without a doubt. IMO the original is still one of the best looking games ever.

I bought the Crysis® Maximum Edition DVD. I hope I don't have too many problems getting it running on win 7 64bit.

I'm not going to tell you that it was a bad purchase because I have that same collection myself. However, it does suffer from a few issues that have been fully patched in the GOG version. You might not have those issues depending on your config. When you get it, try it and see how it runs. If you have no problems, cool beans! If you do, chime in with me/us and we'll see if we can get it sorted out for you.

As a big fan of crysis, I'm glad something come out. But hornestly I think most people want crysis 4, it's been like 7 years now since crysis 3, so i think we have waited long enough for a new game. Not just a remastered old game all throw the first crysis is a legend in its own right.

But as we are in lock down, I can just as well try it out for old memories sake, when it comes out eventually.

GOG version works like a charm on Win 10, so I doubt that there would be any issues with Win7 :)

I like best original Far Cry.

man, a remastered original Far Cry on this new Crytek engine would be golden, but that is sadly in the hands of Ubisoft

yeah will be fine, one thing I do remember that was really weird for my use case of Crysis is that im running it on a 1080p television and for some reason it kept defaulting to 24hz.
So I had to create a new resolution of like one set less so like 1900x1080p at 60hz to have a good experience playing it :p

That foliage is badly needed in Kingdom Come Deliverance (and Witcher 3), right now.

Looks like Crytek are selling out again, choosing mass adoption than cutting edge graphics which is the only reason we still talk about them.

The remake should have been exclusive to XSX, PS5 and high-end PC, then made to look stunning not made to work on anything!

Seams a bit elitist ,the old consoles are capable enough and hopefully it will scale well with hardware way beyond our present max potential tech, like the last one did.
Crysis 2/3 were made with the PS3 in mind were they not so past and next generation should do better.
I wouldn't mind a remastered one followed up by a remade two and three to better reflect the first games greatness.

I have actually been trying to work out if my PC in 2007 was more powerful than the Switch hardware.

But there is no EA logo on the official site. Crysis.com WHOIS doesn't specify anything, protected, but it's registered in Germany, at least the registrar has it's HQ in germany, and that's where Crytek is.

I think EA is just publisher, Crytek is own company?

EA Logo should be there if they are publishing it, there is no EA logo, I found it very hard to believe that a company as big as EA would forget to put a sticker along with something that it is involved in.

This is the EA's official Crysis site: https://www.ea.com/games/crysis/crysis
There is no mention of Crysis Remastered on any EA site nor Origin.

Perhaps it could be a leak that caused Crytek to go out early without the proper reveal being finished as it didn't went according to plan?
