D5 is watercooled vs DDC air cooled, making D5 far more reliable.

Regardless, OP doesn't need two pumps, and it will lead to issues.

What about a cooling block for the back of a DDC, dunno if it would even work or be worthwhile, but i have not seen one.

Cooling a DDC is trivial, just a lil biut of airflow is needed. Throwing a heatsink on it and lil bit of ariflow is best. A D5 isn't just watercooled, thats a misleading way of saying it. It is dumping it's heat load into the loop. Both are the same in that respect as they both take 30w ish and dump that 30w into either the loop or the surrounding air.

**I'll also add that for a long time until MatinsLiquidlabs tested and showed the data, that people weren't actively cooling a DDC. They were literally doing it wrong, even the manufacturer lmao. The suggested way to use a DDC was to stick it onto a block of foam. The DDC was shipped with said velcro to slap onto a flat surface even. Martin showed that yes in fact all pumps create heat cuz they draw juice! And in the case of the DDC you need to pass some air over it. Thus DDC's died and often cuz the whole industry was doing it wrong.

Should not be a problem for D5: I have in my Loop 4 480MM Rads in Corsair 1000D. 2 CPU Blocks(Dual SYSTEM) single GPU Block and 4 QDC's . And it is fine.

I think his system will be fine using a single D5.

The pics of my system below, using a single D5 rarely exceeds 32deg c on the temp sensors.
