You don’t need to keep the pinky there all the time, just for a second to press the button. Many use Toggle on sprint and crouch specifically to not have to hold the button. It’s fine, mostly. How?!? Just tried that and good grief ouch! I couldn't hold my fingers like that for a gaming session if my life depended on it..
Mine left hand sometimes cramps up a bit during very intense and/or long FPS sessions, but that has nothing to do with WASD and everything with me slowly realizing that full height mechanical keyboards are not ergonomic at all really and going with a low profile one is probably better for the wrist long term.My left hand doesn't have any pain from gaming so far, its my right hand's mouse click fingers that hurts sometimes when I play ARPGs for longer than my usual sessions for days/weeks. 'Like when its a new season start or a new relase like D4 was'
My advice for ARPGs that support it BTW is using a controller. It is unironically great, even in something like D2R where original game did not support it. Having movement and attacks/abilities separate is actually probably a better control scheme than having everything on a mouse button.
