DFI Announces SD630-H110 Socket LGA1151 Motherboard

Might as well be. This isn't the DFI we used to know.

actually it is - Its the same DFI but without a few key people that helped put their brand out there. They never stopped making boards for the non-commercial market. breaking into the enthusiast market for them was most likely a 'proof of concept' to show that they could do it. They went out there, had a few laughs and good times doing it then it was back to the grind.

The market is already pretty saturated with motherboard manufacturers as it is.

I do think they should do a limited run of skt 1151 or X99 boards to commemorate the fact that they were once a fairly big player in the enthusiast market.

I still have 2 or 3 s754 boards of theirs. Mostly NF3 stuff, for when I get nostalgic.
Those nF3 Ultra boards (for both 754 and 939) were just something unbeliavable at that time. :)

ewww!

I feel weird looking at that board, with some but a small bit of nostalgia... Like if being transported to the 90's and early 2000.

For some reason I think about Abit. :(

Maybe we can remember all the brands we lived with since each of us started his DIY PC live.
I remember
FIC . ALBATRON . PCPartner .

I spent all night trying to remember Soltek it was a German company with unique color schemes.

For a second there i thought soltek made amp valves but thats sovtek not soltek :p so easy to get them confused

There were A trend . AOpen . AZZA . EPOX . Chintech too
aopen, epox are gone but chaintech somehow still there
and with DFI comeback i hope they gonna offer something new than the other

no dfi thread is complete without this image of pure porn.

stolen from oc.net :D

best board they ever did.

Pros:
-5x PCI
-Green PCB

Cons:
-2 RAM slots
-4 sata ports
-Non-cooled CPU section

Nostalgia, but it isn't worth hassle actually. If it had 4 RAM slots and 6+ sata ports, I would buy it!

Me too.

In other news, I just learned that Supermicro is planning to break into consumer motherboards soon... Crazy world.

Abit had some sick boards too... I still have an IC7-MAX3 with the memory cap mod, best board I have ever had!

This board remind me of intel board

still missed best P45 ever from DVI

Ah, now if it only had an AGP port. That would be proper legacy, lol.

I was gutted when they exited the enthusiast market. The advanced features on some of those boards were like no other. Real shame.

This company has come SO far these days! Such quality and awesomesauce.

I'll leave this here for the people who didnt get my sarcasm.

RIP to the REAL DFI lol

Such humble beginnings and such quality (at the time) products.... such a shame those nasty P45/X48 AND P55/X58 motherboards put the last nail in DFI's coffin. Everything before that time was pretty much golden.

I used to be big into overclocking and used DFI boards for years. do you know why they stopped making ATX motherboards?

Lan Party Jr. were great mATX boards too.

Their sekret sauce they got from Abit left, the Bios guy, and I'm sure the RMA costs ran them thin.

I miss this board sooo much. I miss DFI. I had to sell this board to a member on the forums here maybe 8 years ago because I lost my job. :banghead:
