Benchmark Scores I have wrestled bandwidths, Tussled with voltages, Handcuffed Overclocks, Thrown Gigahertz in Jail
Practically 1080 Ti was the best card back then, a good custom one overclocked better than a Titan X/Xp so it didn't matter even when it had some shaders and mem/membus cut.

even after 7 years, it still holds up.

Yep the good ole days! Unfortunately i don't expect things to ease up going forward unless AI develops a conscience and drops an EMP kaboomy for a quick factory reset. It would be nice to replicate 2017 with the top consumer-level card closely trailing the flagship model for a more reasonable asking price.

BTW, I've still got my 1080 TI running paired with a 7700K - nowadays its more of a work and occasionally gaming machine in addition to my dedicated gaming rig. I've thought about selling it and moving on... but nah, "if its been good, keep it in good hands"

I'm not arguing that; but compared to the way they've been flipping the finger to consumers for the past 3 generations, this is a pretty minor one.
Flipping? Since Turing its rather looking like that middle finger is up continuously, while Huang is adding glitter nail polish, a few gold rings and eventually even dons it a leather jacket while saying 'the more you buy...'

Well okay... 6 vs 6X, but everyone forgets about the timings that should be better on the 6. It really could be not that bad.

There's always the chance this one will also be targeted towards the Chinese market too (a la RTX 4090 D), as they are much more receptive of alternate SKUs overall there.

Until there's official word from Nvidia it's all speculation :)

How is it speculation when the cards are in the wild? What they don't exist until Nvidia says they do?

I just switched from 1080 Ti to 6700 XT because I got a reasonable amount of cash from the Ti :)

Good call about timings, I would imagine them to be slightly tighter.

This stuff should be able to OC fairly well since the process has been refined.

Nvidia already did something similar with the RTX 3060 8GB a year & a half ago. The 'new' 4070 will need to be reviewed & tested against the old one to see what the actual difference is between the two.
