The Enhanced Edition and the new DLC are out. I am hyped as hell.
The visual and audio ehnancements to the base game must be enormous, because the folder the update (incl. the DLC) is downloading to is 23GB (the not yet updated game folder currently occupies 18GB).

Can't wait, loved Dying Light.

For me it was about 6-8GB download and the games 24GB now.

Waiting until now for my second play though.

There will probably be a patch within a few weeks, because there's no way releasing something of this scale would be problems free. So I will probably wait a bit (fortunately I have other games I want to play :p)

Parkour is narcissism at it's worst. It's great in a game though.

ok... gotta ask. what does that even mean? I'm not sure those words mean what you think they mean.....

"excessive or erotic interest in oneself and one's physical appearance.

How does that apply? If we're talking body building, that's a strong case there. Maybe weight lifting as a sport. But Parkour? Unless you go with the (acceptable) theory that "Wounds heal, Chicks dig scars, Glory is forever", I'm not seeing it...

You're actually spot on with the 'chicks' bit. It's nothing more (for most that do it) than a form of 'social preening' for ego massaging, albeit with a good element of athleticism. I've studied Sports Science at Masters level at Uni and currently I'm a gym manager. There is little skill or strength (gymnastics) in parkour, it's more a confidence requiring 'art' with a nod to acrobatics and a skimming of gymnastics. FWIW, I hold gymnasts and circus acrobats in the highest regard. I view Parkour as poverty acrobatics done by douchebags.

And I apologise to those that do Parkour. You may not be a douche but you're hobby is.

LOL, your "apology" sounds as insincere as someone that rants about parkour, then buys and raves about a horror game which has it as a main feature.

And no, I don't do parkour myself, but I know full well that advanced levels of it obviously takes a good deal of skill.

I understood what you meant, and I have to agree. It does require a great deal of skill and bravery, but the people that do it seem to me to be all about "look at me" and feeding the ego.

^Yeah this is one game that does the parkour animations pretty well. You can't just run anywhere with flow, you have to carefully plan your route to keep your momentum going.

As for the comment on skills required that were made, maybe I read too much into it, but I think maybe some are mistakenly associating the examples given with parkour too much, and not enough with the egotism that affects some when they start a YouTube channel.

Point being, you can take just about any sport or activity, and find plenty examples of people that don't have a clue what they're doing just by searching for YouTube failures. However, if anything, that also only proves further that to do it right, takes an amount of skill and finesse that most just don't have.

So it's not parkour that is "douchey", so much as people that don't take the right steps to gradually improve their skills and the stunts they attempt, just to make a damn video. I think you'll find that is true of a LOT of activities that go viral though.

Yep, a bit of a necro thread. I just came across this info myself a couple days back and wanted to share so I thought it was worth bumping the thread.

Techland is releasing 10 free DLC over 12 months for this one helluva game. The first DLC was released not too long ago and the second one is slated to come out sometime in September. So if you were a fan of this awesome game (even more fun when you play co-op with some friends), then you may just be convinced to re-install and sink more time into it.

Here are a few of links reporting the news for anyone that wishes to read more about it:

I'm psyched. I loved this game and so did my brother. We put 100+ hours into the game playing co-op. Looks like we may be taking another run through the game and sinking more time into it.

Can't say it's a bad thing having lots of games to pick from to play. Only enemy to that is time. So I suppose if you lack the free time it can suck, but I'd rather have the option of too many games instead of too few.

My brother has been on a hardcore 7 Days to Die kick and while it's entertaining to a point, the game becomes a tad dull - especially when we only play maybe twice a month for a total of 5-6 hours. The Alpha updates keep causing things to break in previous releases, so we have to constantly start over. I'm hoping to drag him away from that game for a bit (mostly because I need a break from it).

Hopefully these DLC releases on Dying Light will get him to play something that's actually finished and a lot more polished. He liked the game as much as I did, so here's hoping.

This is fantastic news!! It is one of my top 10 all time games....which is significant because I originally preordered it and then hated it.

Now I have two installed on different pc's, both in post game freeplay and I still enjoy an hour or two every couple weeks.

I enjoyed Dying Light a lot, and especially The Following DLC, but I'm not sure a few skins and new enemy types is enough to justify the ongoing 500,000 a week activity. I'd rather see them add another lengthy campaign DLC and charge for it.

I'd rather see them develop DL2 instead of useless miniupdates. I saw what the first one brough to the table, and was very unimpressed.

I'd rather see them develop DL2 instead of useless miniupdates. I saw what the first one brough to the table, and was very unimpressed.

DL is much better than the first one, mainly the iffy movement that Dead Island had is gone in DL.

They do plan to do a DL2 as i have heard.

What Dead Island? We're talking about Dying Light here, aren't we?
Dying light was originally going to be Dead Island 2. Disputes with publisher Deep Silver left Deep Silver with the IP rights to Dead Island 2.

Thus, Techland decided to forge ahead with the assets they had created for DI2, including the vast open game world and day night cycle, and many of the ideas. They had to invent a new story though, since Deep Silver held that as part of the IP.

So you see, Dying Light was born from Dead Island 2, and only came about because Techland were free of their publisher.
