EA SPORTS FC Announce New Sponsorship of UEFA's Women in Football Leadership Program

Today, in celebration of Women's History Month, EA SPORTS FC announced a new sponsorship deal with long-standing partners UEFA, to become title partners of their Women In Football Leadership Program (WFLP). Now in its tenth year, the WFLP is an annual week-long program, supported by the IMD Business School, aimed at advancing the careers of women capable of influencing the football industry, both today and in the future. The program has been running since 2014, benefitting over 240 women so far.

This year's program, in partnership with EA SPORTS FC, will take place in August at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, supporting over 30 women from across the football industry, with candidates selected based on their future potential in the world of football. Involving key-note speeches from existing leaders in the industry, a variety of group training sessions, as well as one-on-one-coaching, the WFLP is designed to improve leadership skills, encourage networking and build self-confidence in order for the participants to achieve their full potential.

The inclusion of participants from EA SPORTS will inject fresh, innovative ideas and perspectives into our conversations."

This program sponsorship builds on multiple commitments from EA SPORTS FC to champion women in football, following on from the EA SPORTS Women's Football Summit in 2022, at which a number of initiatives were announced, as well as this year's addition of women into Ultimate Team in EA SPORTS FC 24.

I will be honest, the most surprising thing of all in this to me is that apparently there is now a “Women’s History Month”. Huh. Neat. Whatever it entails.

That crowd has a name. It’s Americans. I will never understand what linguistic disaster happened over there that made them consider rugby with slight differences as football and actual football as… soccer, whatever that means. USA is a silly place.

Well, over 32k people were at Stamford Bridge for the Chelsea/Arsenal match. That's more than double what 10 of the 12 teams that play in the joke that is the men's scottish premier league can manage. I'd say the womens teams attendance numbers are high enough to warrant sponsorship. And remember, this is all about money. It's all about exposure, so if enough people are there watching it, the sponsors want to sell their product. It really is that simple.

It may as well be a robot football team - if the audience is there to watch it, the sponsors will want a share of the media exposure.

Right, and sure a good invest from EA. The Women's license fee should be way cheaper, and it's a slowy growing business.

If you think watching Liverpool vs Manchester City is boring, you are doing it wrong. It is more the fact that Euro Football happens in the morning and afternoon. By the way the Women's World Cup was an absolute great watch. There is just as much violence at some College Football Games in America so it all goes into the mix.
