No, I've been hearing all over the net that the game performs much better on higher-clocked duals than on quad's..
Edit: I'll wait till the next patch is out, hopefully within a couple of days... then we'll see
Dual or quad won't matter, what will matter is performance per clock, and since you are OCing, any decent Quad these days will match that Wolfdales clocks and get more performance per clock. But I don't see the point, I'm running this game beyond Ultra (ini tweaks) with almost every texture pack that is released right now, and my processor is only $150, and my cards only $260.
I love this game... I can't wait for bugs to be patched... My only two complaints is that you can't change keys (or I can't figure out how) and two: you can't co op or multi play this game... I've always avoided magic type rpg games and this is my first one but man it's good... i put 30+ hours on this game in 2.5 days lol
Time to start modding, there are mods that allow swapping of hotkeys. MP though, that might never happen, it's hard to do a game like this MP, unless the 2nd player is just there and has no real effect on changing the game.
well this new engine is still gamebryo i tested it earlier same commands same settings same tweaks as all the older titles, this is gamebryo all over again nothings really changed, except for better multi core support, and a few tweaks this game engine is essentially just as old as the CoD game engine lolz.
I'm sure they borrowed some from it, but to say the only change is multicore support, seems doubtful. I guess it doesn't matter either way, all I know is I am running a shit load of texture pakcs right now and the game runs great. With 3x 3870's. 4870x2, 2x 5850's, or my 6950 I could never use texture packs in the other Gamebryo games, even 1 texture pack would just cripple my game. If adding multicore support helped that much, then thats all that matters to me. In the end what I say still holds true, this game looks much better, is less buggy, and performance is much better, and thats all that matters to me.
