Yeah once every few months I load up for a mix of trade, combat and mining. I eventually get low on time commitment or lose the desire to come back and move on.

I haven't checked out the new fleet carrier yet. Last time I popped in they'd nerfed mining but I was still doing pretty good. I sucked more at combat since I haven't played in a while and put down the HOTAS setup years ago, but fared well enough. I play pretty much entirely solo mode. I always come back but nothing has really given me reason to stay since I found a space sim combat loop[ I enjoy far more.

Usually when I get bored with this I pop over to Void Destroyer 2 for a while, run some missions, build up my empire, take on an enemy fleet, revise my trade and mining routes, and get into some wicked combat situations (the combat loop I enjoy more than Elite). Elite is badass, its graphics are still great and its audio is still amazing, but its still mostly Elite from 6 years ago (or longer if you were an early backer like I was). Nothing wrong with it...I wish I could blend Elite and VD2 into a space sim/strategy title I'd enjoy the hell out of.

That being said, I do look forward to fleet carriers, I don't like the idea of forced commitment with recurring "maintenance" costs. I guess I want it more gamey than that, and that's surely not what Elite is or should be.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
is it me or Elite is becoming more Star Citizen than Star Citizen itself while not requiring constant funding pledge?

after seeing that .... i might have to check on E : D more seriously once it's out ....

(that being said ... i have to fire up SC to see what i did keep in my hangar ... )

Man, Odyssey needed to be planatery atmospheres. I already have a cool space buggy, why do I need to run around on foot? Won't the other space buggies just yeet me into a bloodstain across the alien terrain? Weak.

Just give me something other than lifeless space rocks to land on. We needed that bad.

Ha, decided to get rich quick and ferry LTDs for people before the patch nerfs it today. More than doubled my money, but the bottom fell out of the market while I had over 1b credits of cargo on me and I can't sell them for profit anywhere. Guess it really happens to you sometimes.

Two parts from how I'm reading it.
1) For mining. Overlapping mineral hotspots will have diminishing return, so a 4x overlap will be more like 2.75x the minerals instead of the current 4x. They're also fixing a bug where using a fighter reset the rocks you mined, so a 5 minute reset of all rocks isn't possible.
2) For selling. Demand goes down in real time now. Before if there was a station with 30,000 demand for LTD at 1.7m credits it would stay that way for a few hours or days even, and people would mob the station and make millions. Now, once 15,000 are sold the demand will be 15,000 and the price will be lower, and after another 15,000 the demand will be zero and price will be in the gutter.

These two combined will probably destroy the meta of mining hundreds of thousands of LTDs, storing them in a carrier, and then waiting for a high-sell system to be found.

i guess i wont play anymore, the game is too boring and i always keep getting disconnected from the stupid servers. I was stuck half way to beagle point on a carrier with other people out of fuel. Only a few people where mining trit so I just sucided my butt back to the bubble. I left a conda and a python 50k LYs from the bubble on a fuel-less carrier. I deleted the game from steam.
