It doesn't look like the boards have much to offer beyond looks. Generally speaking the boards themselves look pretty bare. I can't say I like seeing 6 USB 2.0 ports either.

I actually like the capacitors that EVGA uses. Don't ask me why though.

Not a fan of EVGA motherboards to be honest, they always seem extremely overpriced for the features you get and these look like no exception to that. Less USB 3.0, no SATA Express and in my opinion the aesthetics are not as good as competing products. The one thing I do like about them though is the right angled connectors for most of the cables.

If you ask me anyone buying an EVGA motherboard is taking a risk. We use EVGA motherboards at my place of business and their motherboards have the highest in field failure rate as well as in house failure and open box failure rate.
I have seen boards come in with bent pins, melted dip switches, rma boxes that EVGA is claiming new motherboards, faulty MOSFETs, and more. The only reason we still use them is our customer has a locked bom.
I want to like EVGA motherboards but they have an worse reputation at my job then BCM motherboards.
So to me it doesn't matter how pretty they make their motherboard lineup.

Nice to see another mATX board though if I was going with this platform I'd have to give the nod to the ASRock X99M. Support for faster and longer M.2 sticks, another Ethernet port, more SATA, etc.

Something worries me these days when I see USB 2 ports and theyre the nasty old style ones that are just 'stuck' on the board.

It somewhat reminds me of the old ECS way of doing things..... just not what really would inspire me to drop $400+ bones of these things.

The BIOS / UEFI tends to be stored on EEPROM which has a limited numbers of write/erase cycles. It's not something you want to be doing every month for several years.

Our Z77 FTW is nicer than all these boards today.
You bought for 99$ if I remember good over 24h discount mistake on Newegg.

If someone ask me I would leave i7-3770K one more year I would love to Haswell Extreme launch date is 2015 summer. My i7-3770K will be good for gaming 1-2 years more.
He can hold and Maxwell premium chip without problem and 1% bottleneck.

Because they couldn't fix the problems. And EVGA X79 motherboards weren't as popular as their X58 mobos.

I am using an eVGA X58 board currently, and it has been rock-solid.

However, the main reason I bought eVGA was the lifetime warranty. Now that that is a thing of the past, I cannot see any reason to buy eVGA.

AsRock is going to be my next motherboard.

I personally haven't had an EVGA board, but I can say that it would be pretty hard to top how reliable and rock solid my P9X79 Deluxe has been. All in all, if the board doesn't have any issues from the get got, I would suspect it to be a decent set of boards, but the price is debatable. My X79 board has 6 USB 3.0 ports, so I would expect more out of an X99 board and there are a lot of other motherboard venders who have all USB 3.0 ports which is what I would really be looking for if I were to invest that kind of money in a platform again.

All in all, there isn't really anything about these particular EVGA boards that impresses me.

I also learned to my dismay that X99 in general doesn't support RSTe like X79 does is an much more like a consumer grade PCH than a server-grade PCH. That kind of bums me out, but that isn't a fault of EVGA or these boards.

OT: EVGA is well behind on features/hardware, price, support/software and looks versus its competition, if you can even call it competition.

I like the no nonsense look of the classified now all I want is a confirmation of it's memory and CPU clocking abilities being on par with the rampage or SOC board. Also USB 3.0 has always given me issues before windows loads so I welcome the 6 USB 2.0 ports.
