Here are some of the first pictures of EVGA's flagship GeForce GTX 980 Ti based graphics card, the Classified Kingpin Edition. Designed and tuned by the legendary overclocker himself, the card will be the fastest GTX 980 Ti offering out of the box, by EVGA. It begins with a large PCB (though not as tall as the one on ASUS Strix), which draws power from a combination of one 6-pin and two 8-pin PCIe power connectors; conditioning it for the GPU using a 15-phase VRM, capable of an obscene amount of current at 600A, letting you stabilize your overclock.

The cooling solution is a copper mine, with a large all-copper base, from which 8 mm-thick copper heat pipes convey heat to a copper-fin array; which is ventilated by a pair of temperature-activated 100 mm spinners. The company didn't disclose clock speeds, but is hopeful of selling the fastest GTX 980 Ti in the market, which means its clock speeds could be in the same ball park as ZOTAC's GTX 980 Ti AMP Extreme.

And a single slot array of ouputs which makes for lovely single slot waterblocks. One of these with block will cost equal to or less than a Titan X and hopefully clock to 20-30% more performance.

4k, single card heaven.

Well, by the time this is in retail, the 'Fury' will be out so my decisions will be made by then.

This looks freaking exotic. Hopefully we will see base core clocks in the 1400mhz area with this cooler.

That's a very good copper cooler, almost a crime to remove it for a water block...

+1. Dat shiny copper...probably weighs a kilo though.

Yea doubt there is any water cooler for the card as its a custom PCB. Might well buy one with water block in stalled or a ref one.

EKWB will make one for sure.

Why isn't Kingpin using a Titan-X instead of a cut-down GM200 in form of a tweaked 980Ti?

Hopefully it comes with a BIOS with raised power targets to really make use of these 450W from two 8-pin and one 6-pin power connectors...

Nice heater for winter time:D

Dem power connectorz! 3 of them! zomg!

I think he would if he could, but I don't think Nvidia allows anyone to make a custom design for any Titan.

Cool stuff!!!

well... but I like visuals of "780 Ti K|NGP|N" version more.

I thought the constraint to only use reference pcb design for titan-x was lifted with the release of the 980Ti?! Maybe I got that one wrong... ;)

4k, single card heaven... not with the benchmark results I have seen

Don't judge before final hardware and drivers are out! :wtf:

You take me too literally. However, with 10-20% more fps on a good overclock, this will deliver playable fps on high settings at 4K. Therefore, it is single card 4K, as most of the reviews have already said about it.

What W1zz said:

Just like with the Titan X, single GPU gaming at 4K is finally made possible with the GTX 980 Ti

Hexus:

making a good fist of 4K gaming with the bells and whistles on

Guru 3D:

Then there is Ultra HD, that brute resolution of 3840x2160 requires sheer raw horsepower ... and the GTX 980 Ti is one of the two card that can handle this resolution well with very decent image quality settings.

So, take those quotes and add even higher fps. Like I said, single card 4K heaven.

I don't think 30-45fps gaming is "heaven"... two cards is still needed for 4K if you want 60fps.

If it cant even do 60 fps then I would hardly call it heaven or even 4k capable, you can do you 4k at 30 fps with plenty cards already, do we call that "single card gaming 4k heaven"?

hell its weird to me that you say "playable fps" is equal to "heaven" to begin with, what would you use to say what proper fps (60 - 120fps) is equal to?

I have been running a Single Titan X on 4k since launch, while this would definitely give you some legroom for new games in the next year or two, the stock Titan X cooler does a damn fine job. This setup however would probably come very close to besting it.

If you can get a gsync 4K monitor, one of these cards will be plenty enough, yeah, for 60FPS you may want two of these, but gsync basically makes that point moot :)

Can we get it without the "Kingpin" branding?

I mean, I understand he is good in pressing the "+" button in some bios, but some people really wants it to look minimalist as possible.

60fps fascists everywhere. On my 1440p screen, with 2 780ti's, I struggle to get past 60fps on ultra on recent games but fact is it's perfectly playable.
Depends on your need I suppose.

kinda odd to start with a word like "fascists" and end with "depends on your need I suppose" dont you think?
also gamers that still debate fps below 60fps....I dont know what to say but...get with the times pls, 60 should not even be the goal anymore, 100+ should be.
