EVGA Teases GeForce GTX 1080 Ti K|ngp|n Graphics Card

EVGA teased some of the first pictures of its upcoming flagship graphics card, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti K|ngp|n (kingpin) graphics card, designed by the renowned overclocker himself. The card features all of the iCX technology innovations EVGA made, plus some of the highest-grade electrical components primed for LN2 overclocking, and external overclocking modules such as the EVBot. The company will unveil the card at its Computex 2017 booth.

There's always a better/more efficient/better price/performance ratio card "6 months (or so) away - if everyone thought like you, nobody would ever buy a new video card! What in the world were you thinking when you bought your 970? (with the 10 series "only" 6 months (or so) away?

It doesn't make sense to me to buy the K|ngp|n card for gaming but I do see how it could appeal to someone just for the sake of having something special that very, very few others can have.

Indeed, but some companies apparently support overclocking (whether their products are overclockable or not seems to be beside the point).

Nvidia as it turns out are in the "corner of shame", so they can't win either way.

I love EVGA to bits, but they really have to think this trough. Kingpin models should out of the box come with waterblock. Its not like they will be selling millions of those. Probably limited run of 500-1000 units for people who don't really care about $$$ hole in the bank account and for which air-cooling is an anatema.
