So, uh... What kind of mods are you guys running? I should say, what are your "must haves" for mods right now?

Mine currently are:
- Better Settlers - They get a bit better gear and are way better at defending bases (within reason)
- Simple Intersection - Less restrictive base asset placement
- Functional Weapon Racks
- Lowered Weapons
- Spring Cleaning - You can clean up the garbage around your settlements like you would salvage anything else.
- Shaikujin's Better Alerts - You get a popup alert when a base is under attack.
- Homemaker [Expanded Settlements] - More stuff for your settlement
- Snap'n Build - Even more stuff for your settlement (greenhouses, industrial stuff, more knick-knacks)

Free Downgrades (lets you remove mods to the basic for free, ie remove scope to iron sights without having to "make" sights.

ah man im trying to gain acess to my steam account so i can plaay this game. im psyched about it to played it on a friends ps4 and it was great so itll be even better on my machine. now if only steam support would put a rush order on this!

Price for DLC is going up shortly (29.99 to 49.99 USD). First main DLC is Far Harbor (May). First major DLC is Automatron (April).

It's the only DLC we know of that adds a whole new area - a coastal island and the largest new Fallout landmass ever added as DLC, developer Bethesda has said. Its map will also play host to new faction quests, settlements, creatures and dungeons.
What you may not know is Far Harbor is based on a real-world place, just as the game's main campaign is set in the remnants of a post-apocalyptic Boston.
The island of Far Harbor is located in Maine, and it sounds very much like the real-world location of Bar Harbor, also in Maine

The best place, if you want control and good descriptions is to browse the Nexus. You can read for hours! For starters look up some of those listed a few posts up. For full control of mod load order and interaction, use the Nexus Mod Manager

After 120 hours I finally beat the main quest. Gonna go back and polish off anything I missed.

Yeah at only 120 hours, you no doubt missed a lot, but quite frankly, the more you try to cram into one play through, the more you level up, which can leave you overpowered. At 206 hours I'm at level 66, and have only done a few main Institute quests so far. I'm able to easily kill pretty much anything in the game.

When Desdemona started pushing me to join Railroad instead of Minutemen, I was worried the point of no return choose a faction bit was coming soon. So now I'm sifting through all the companions to do their quests. There's still some things I haven't dabbled into yet, like the Railway Rifle, which I just picked up.

The game has so much content, that even with the tedious repeating radiant quests and getting a bit overpowered, you can still enjoy it. In those times I just avoid Preston and pick a less powerful weapon when I tire of such things, usually the one that has the most ammo. Lately I've been sifting through companions to do their quests, and checking out relay tower distress signals.

But you apparently breezed through the story quests. I think maybe you went too fast, and I'm going too slow. LOL

Right now I'm trying to figure out what to do with Piper to get her affinity from 634 to 750, so I can finally do her damn quest. I'm running out of typewriters to loot, and wouldn't you know it, the flirt option for her came up when we were at the Glowing Sea, and it was too risky to put on my Charisma clothing.

My character is still looking for romance. I like XX68 or whatever that courser's name is, but apparently he doesn't do romance. Oh, and Piper loves me but it's not reciprocal!

Just had my wtf moment yesterday, I was helping Paladin Kell and he was really pleased with me, giving me armor and praising me. When he was ready with the compliments, I went to walk away and hit the Q key instead of the W, and sent a molotov cocktail flying! The BoS didn't understand that it was an honest mistake . Thank heavens I had saved the game immediately before.

I've pretty much kept doing quests for Railroad, planning to choose Minutemen to finish, once, as I've read some say, you eventually have to choose just one faction. However, after

nuking the Institute and taking out the Prydwen,

I'm only getting what appear to be side quests from Desdemona. She's yet to say anything more about the Minutemen after those battles.

Please tell me the game doesn't end vaguely, with repeating radiant quests. There was what appeared to be an end of game cutscene after

but since there were no credits, I figured it's probably not the end yet.

I've read talk about a big mission to defend the castle, and I was hoping to save that for end of game after choosing the Minutemen, but I see no signs of things heading that direction. I've tried to talk to Preston, and he doesn't even say anything about what happened to the Institute and Brotherhood of Steel, and just keeps dishing out the same radiant quests.

Please no spoilers, I just want to know if it can end the way I was hoping, or anything better than this.

I did the exact opposite of you and it was the same. I joined the institute and the minutemen. BoS and the Railroad can eat a D!#K

I don't think Desdemona would say anything about the Minutemen's quests. You'd have to go to Preston Garvey and check out dialogues.

@TheMailMan78 are you already an enemy of BoS?
I'm kinda scared to be so for now even though I'm siding with the Institute.
Heck I've already had 2 vertibirds nearly crash on my character, and it's by accident out of the blue! Just my luck I guess...

i ended the institutes questline and just got radiant quests from preston and was really annoyed by that, as i expected more after the castle mission.

I mean - i got that the BoS wasnt gunna give me quests, but it was illogical for independent factions to just stop.

I've already tried that, he sits there like a neutral dummy and just keeps giving out radiant quests. I even tried killing a BoS named character after seeing someone say that would open up Minutemen end of story quests, but he still just gives radiant quests.

So I took Preston with me to take out all the BoS at Cambridge Police Station, and all the Railroad people at their HQ, and he still just gives radiant quests.

After killing all the BoS at Cambridge, his response when I talked to him was something like, "It's a shame about the Brotherhood, with all their resources, they could have done a lot for the Commonwealth. Then next time I talk to him he's like, "Damn BoS!"

So now I'm going to try making the Institute go hostile by informing BoS about them trying to start up the reactor, but since I'm again going on someone claiming that starts Minutemen end story quests, I'm a bit skeptical.

At this point FO4 is feeling like a game with great gameplay, but not very good scripting at the end of the game.
