An RX5600, for example,

the 5700 and 5700XT's as well are relatively cheap now and should still be good 1080p gaming cards, for the CPU upgrade I do suggest an X3D chip (5600,5700 or the 5800) vcache helps huge on 1080p gaming..

Results from V1.1 Bench on 2k
Stock 12900k - 43w average power draw, holding on for dear life

And here it is with some slight tuning and Ecores off, doesn't seem to care about cores at all - power draw 70 watts

1718661260536.png

And lastly the magnum opus, the "you only got a day to live" overclock - 1080p maximum. I can probably push it to 40k but we are approaching degradation territory.

I played from (re)launch all the way just to the final content patch before Endwalker's release, was kind burnt out, mad at a lot of things, especially the weekly gating of gathering/crafting job progress, game did a 180 from "hey you can do everything with one character" to "you should rely other players more" not getting that players would just roll more alts. Just wanted to jump grind to my heart's content/raid and log off but SE decided they wanted to turn it into a chore if you were to decide on a more single-player focused experience and I didn't have time for that nonsense so I quit. How have things been since? Should I jump or stay away?

Rerun for 1.1 update. Score didn't change at all. As before, all settings maxed and settings at FSR (only apply when below 60fps) so it doesn't happen.
For those that don't know, the reason your score is about 1000 points lower with DLSS even if upscaling isn't applying is because DLAA is happening at native.
My highest score is 22.5k but thats with a much higher stable undervolt for my 3080 TI (925mv@1965mhz) vs my daily (875mv/1875mhz) at the cost of heat.

So i have finished my dualrank 64 gigs performance exploration and went back to this benchmark, i found SR 2x16gigs adie @ 6600MT/s CL26-37-32-30-62 + 2200mhz FCLK 1:1 mode to about ~400points faster than SR 2x16gigs adie @ 8000MT/s CL32-45-40-44-84 + 2200mhz FCLK 2:1 mode in this benchmark.

So the verdict is that this benchmark prefers latency, atleast for my current X3D setup :)

With some further tweaking i also managed to break 51k, but to my surprise, i still seem to be GPU limited even at 1080p lowest settings, on a tuned watercooled 3090
(saw nice scaling with +30mhz GFX core)

Same settings, mid oc on the 9950X ES
(2 months old run, performance could have improved with latest agesa)

This bench shut down my PSU hard at the default settings first time I ran it, and I've been scared of running it ever since. I can run Endwalker all day long without issue, though, and usually score about 32,400. Strange.

You have unstable clock on CPU/GPU or your PSU is too weak for your video card in this situation, a undervolt/underclock can help.

Training wheels off for the 7900XT. +15% power and 2800mhz clock + no longer necked by the 8700K.
Even on a 7800X3D there are more scenes in this bench where nothing is fully utilized than there are where you get 100% GPU utilization. Clearly we're bumping into limits here :p
