Sure, ill do that in a bit. To be honest, in dx11 synthetic benches and.. well and even actual games that use dx11 this card smashes about anything. A flight sim thats very demanding all around that I play is dx11 and they got a few autopilot flight paths with you know alot of war going on around you and just capframex it and compare with others and I think i compared with 4-5 4090s and was averaging above them. But ONLY if I can keep it below 110c, But on air thats nearly impossible after 525w unfortunately.. But that speaks highly for xfxs stock fan setup. XFX legit killing these amd cards lately. This card as it sits literally just with a repaste of mx-6 can absolutely maintain under 100c at 525w at the plug on my kill a watt under gaming conditions.. Don't get me wrong, when its running at clocks like these its almost always 50-100% fan speed while gaming and after 70% these fans are actually quite loud. But impressive none the less. Like I said when I can get this water block on it and get above 550w to the 600 area.. then we'll know how gangster this card really is or isnt.
Reality hits about more modern games using dx12 ult/RT when im playing msfs2020 on ultra dx12 w\everything up and the 4090s are 15% ahead without breaking a sweat, I'm at 500w at the card and at that level it performs a just a bit above stock cooler equipped 4080s level i've compared with. Which is still stellar for what it is and total money invested imho! The card is legit super super fast people saying 6950 or 6800 is even close to this card are smoking crack. And Im a former 6950 on water and evc. Its not even close. I must send some praise to the 4090 tho, its efficiency is actually really good. I consider this card to spit out alot for the power its using. So I did the math against a few 4090s and found the 4090 being substantially more efficient under heavy heavy loads, it was impressive actually and the opposite that most claim about the card. So crap information is still rampant somehow on both teams..Truth is the 4090 is the king and truly beast mode but is strangly efficient while is slaps competition around and the 7900xt is strangly fast and strangly strong at 4k gaming right out the box, hogwarts/returnals showed us that.
But then I tried VR.............. AMD is trolling us pretty hard. AMD hasnt even attempted to fix it, the community has got it to acceptible levels *KINDA* in some big sims But a 4080 is like 40% ahead of thet xt/xtx, this is an obviously driver problem. I realize amd has high baud rate compliance right now and the companies have yet to really support it. But honestly they havent even tried. SO thats very dissapointing for me. But maybe when either community or AMD fixes it They could be solid to amazing in VR, if vr performance is like the pancake mode rast performance at ALL. But right now all amd rdna 3 is good for in VR is making you throw up from the jitters, very dissapointing from AMD and somewhat the headset guys, but cant blame them for catering to the company that sells way more cards I suppose. Its on AMD to bridge that gap.
Anyways, in conclusion I think 7900 xt got a bad rap because most everyone who bought one bought reference cards and ive handle and owned both. The build quality difference between reference and say, merc xfx or Nitro, taichi is staggering and it was reference cards that suffered and made up most of the owners having vapor chamber problems. OH And for future reference, for anyone thinking about an AMD card as prices come down. This is the second black edition card from XFX ive bought, after trying a reference rdna 2 and 3 and then grabbing an XFX BE card. These cards are ALWAYS ALWAYS clocking significantly higher mem and core speeds than most the other competition using the same hardware. So I think they are binned up a fair bit and the price increase isnt even bad over the non BE. I did infact email xfx to inquire and not surprisingly they declined to give specifics but DID agree that the black editions are indeed held to a higher standard when it comes to parts used at assembly time... *shrug* Take from that what you will. Anyways sorry to ramble. Ill be back in a while with that bench.
