Isn't it a coincidence that it will happen while AMD will start selling their new GPU's?

If the 9070 etc didnt look so good I wouldnt have been surprised if Ngreedia made the scalper prices the new norm.

I don't think there's any ounce of information in this "news article", just a bunch of wishful thinking.

Tech news sites, reviewers are inventing content, because it's just too depressing to just state the facts - that we are going backwards in price / performance.

The information is that GB202 is displacing B200 wafers in production. But it's still very predatory. Most people would love a 25% cut GB202 for $999 and the full die minus 512 Cuda for 1599 coupled with 40 Gbps memory.

Im more depressed knowing people still use Twitter....
Amen Brother, Amen.

I'm waiting for ready made watercooled models so for now only 2 are in the works:

I like the Gigabyte signaling LED next to power plug, but I don't like the 2 screw terminal which is asking for trouble if you somehow push terminal or something. Inno3D is nicer, has classic 3 screws terminal, simpler (can very easily remove LED strip at the bottom without dismantling whole card), but so far no idea how PCB looks like - perhaps the same as aircooled one which has 2 shuters on one rail which is mehhhh...

The 5090 is not something a gamer should buy, only those who use it for something else should buy it.
I have a 5080 (bought at launch MSRP) and overclocked it. It reaches a stock 4090 easily, sometimes it is even faster.
Between my OC'ed 5080 and a 5090 is only ~30-35% FPS for an 100% price increase...
And if you already have a 4090, thats even better.

Just get the one with wire load distribution monitoring, Astral or something similar. Should be the norm by now.
Only fights the symptoms not the cause...and you pay 50% extra for the Astral...

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing....also, like in the real world, even on TPU I have to imagine that 99% of users CANNOT afford a 5090, so it's funny to me that there would be a headline telling us to rejoice because there are more 5090s coming.....oh, those poor, poor consumers who can afford a $3000 video card, but can't get one, whatever will they do to survive such a cruel world

if Nvidia overproduces GB202 it could lead to a 5080 Ti. I now believe the Ti is possible. but it needs to happen quickly. If they plan on waiting a year, just forget it. I'm not buying.

There could be a simple trigger that meausures the voltage drop across the shunts and trigger throttling same as the hot point that now stays hidden.

That's why I installed AC unit for 1000$, bought new PSU for 500$ and now waiting patiently couple of months until I will be able to buy one.
Drivers are bugged/ connectors melting, PCI black screens etc, lots of issues needs to be addressed anyway.
RTX 5090 needs lots of investment just to run, I can't just buy it and put in inside without any preparation

For a HTPC/SFF, I imagine, right? Isn't that what they're for? ;)

OR...
Blackwell is proving to be a overheating, bug ridden disaster and even M$ stopped buying it, so we're generously switching
production to something we can sell to you plebs.
As others have already predicted, don't expect prices to tumble, sellers will hang on to those
artificially inflated margins like grim Death.
Somehow the RTX 4080 sitting in my case seems like a better purchase that it did a few weeks ago.

Weird. It's almost like they didn't fix it the second time. Remember, these aren't GB10x...What was the problem again?

I wonder if somewhere Huang is telling his AI supercomputer that designed the thing that it sucks. It can't stand up, but it can probably write a song about it for him...."Like en-vide-ahhh".

Hurray. Time to sell my rtx 4090 for at rtx 5080. Great upgrade right?

Or should go for a 5090. Can't deside. Don't try to talk reason with me to keep my 4090....

The humblest of brags. At least you get the joke. Yeah...you made the right investment choice on that one, it has become abundantly clear.
If the 9070 etc didnt look so good I wouldnt have been surprised if Ngreedia made the scalper prices the new norm.

It's very clear nVIDIA prices due to supply/demand per generation from the last one. 4090s sold for the price they set for 5090. Likewise, 4080s/5080 got a cut. As did 5080 12GB Edition.
They're trying to figure out how much the market will absorb wrt MSRP through supply attrition to set pricing as high as possible. That is 100% correct, sir. They've done this long-time. Long, long time.
This is why their AIBs are probably pissed. They set higher prices for margins, there-by testing the waters, and then nVIDIA turns around and wants that for the next-gen, there-by stealing their margins.

if Nvidia overproduces GB202 it could lead to a 5080 Ti. I now believe the Ti is possible. but it needs to happen quickly. If they plan on waiting a year, just forget it. I'm not buying.

There could be a simple trigger that meausures the voltage drop across the shunts and trigger throttling same as the hot point that now stays hidden.

Ti or Super? Let's just say it: The actual 5080 was supposed to have 24GB and they skimped on it last second bc they could (as lots of people are not very bright and/or don't have a better option).
It's that simple. Now they will double dip with a refresh (That will still not have enough raster to replace a 4090 but try to sell it on artificial segmentation through MFG), and sell perf through ram gains.
I would argue they are like quintuple dipping. The fact they didn't just make an 8 cluster (similar to the 7900xtx, even with some units disabled) is an exercise in how much you can abuse your customer base.

Man, if AI was really the wunderwaffe everyone says it is, why can't nVidia sell all of their AI cards?

That's just guessing by MEGAsizeGPU, probably as reference to the "cheap" Chinese DeepSeek LLM that apparently doesn't need the expensive server hardware.

But I don't think it will have any influence on purchases - we had tons of articles debunking how DeepSeek actually also needs powerful hardware and Chinese were bluffing, we had articles on how it's actually not as powerful as it was claimed, we had articles on how it's inherently unsafe to use (not just because it's Chinese)...

So all is well in the world, AI bubble didn't burst, and Nvidia share price is basically back to record high, regaining all the billions and billions they allegedly lost...

But of course that's not a good news to gamers - Nvidia is certainly not looking to Gaming because AI market failed.

It’s not even a matter of what you can or cannot afford. At that price point it is just ridiculous and should be avoided. But as you can see here there are customers so happy about Nvidia market policy

Ok guys... Did this really have to news? You basically long winded said "in the feature there will be more GPUs". We already knew this, of course there will be more GPUs in the feature. I usually don't speak about the articles but damn guys.

I can't denie that i sit back and feel rtx 4090 was a desent investment despite its also high price. After over 2 years. Its still the second fastest gpu in the world. Not to shabby. Until and release new gpu's that is maybe.

Rtx 5000 is in my opinion a let down. Not a big jump in performance we have seen before and while faster, you pay the price with higher price for rtx 5090 at least and higher power consumption. 450 watt vs 575 watt. Rtx 5080 also got a jump in power over 4080.

Despite having a 4090, i also think 5090 power consumption is rediculess. I havevunder voltet my card and saved me 100 to 150 watt in games with minimal performance loss by Locking gpu clock to 2600 MHz

Couldn't have said it better. I would have cared more if the headline was "Nvidia returns to Mainstream GPU segment with GTX 17 series." And I bet a lot of other people would be too.

A Co2 fire extinguisher? In a not so well ventilated room?

Actually that picture is an ABC extinguisher which shoots a godawful white powder all over the place.

I did HVAC repair & maintenance in office buildings for about 40 years. Every computer room, data center, & main electrical room had a CO2 extinguisher on the wall by the door. I would of much rather used that than be in the room when the Halon (later FM200) was deployed. If you weren't at the door, you would be a casualty.
Only used a CO2 extinguisher once, putting out the small fire in a main electrical switch gear after a couple of other guys were burned setting off an arc-flash fire.

Tomgang, shoot Jensen an email & see if he'll send you one.

Good news for who, Nvidia?
Good news for consumers would be a massive price drop to something affordable.
