I also changed the way the titles are given. If not enough people are eligible for a title, it will hand out the lowest titles first.

So if only 1 user is eligible he won't be "Champion", but "Expert" instead.

that's correct. the like synchronizing will only be displayed after a reload, to keeps things simpler for me development-wise.

Confirmed. Will work on a fix asap

Edit: Should be fixed now, please test and confirm

Appears to be fixed: rated +2 on the above + the next one from you in this topic and both correctly showed +2 from me.

EDIT

The new post i just made got merged with the previous one, even though that one was from yesterday ...

This is the post i just posted:

@ moderators: after 5 days with this new system, i'd like your opinions, from a mod's point of view.

Do you think it's better / worse this way? Does it help a mod perform a mod's job VS the previous like system (which is still in place)?

Or is it more time with this system in place required for a better judgment?

Iikes never did anything for the mods. Just adding some notification on high downvote ratio will help the mods

Then, though it's not much, it does help.

It's better then before, no? If likes, as you say, never did anything but downvote ratio brings attention to the mods, then that's helpful. If it helps, then it's worth implementing, IMO.

Only if it adds more trouble then it helps will it need to be revised / scrapped.

I don't know if this is due to recent changes, or the initial changes. I thought I'd noticed it from time to time, but assumed I was mistaken. When I logged in this afternoon, the site showed 1 alert, but when I moused over, it showed no alerts. I clicked it to see all alerts, and it showed nothing since 1:40 this AM (Jester in the first pic). Then I went to "Watched Threads" manually, and it showed Drone had posted since I was last on in the Space thread. Why aren't the two lining up?

Could we have a greater contrast in colours between the read and unread threads please @W1zzard .
I am finding it hard to see the difference and often miss new posts.

When it merges threads, could you add a border-top at each merge to separate them?

This.

Also, please separate the merged posts with something like "Merged", with a slightly bigger font size, so that the merged posts have their content clearly differentiated.

Why? What would the point be?

This. The more you encounter it, the more likely you may find it bothersome when merging has occurred, Atleast im guessing it is inconvenient based on the requests & on imagining myself in a position where i wanted to easily be able to differentiate between content that was once separate & is now combined, likely threads that are long life
so that the merged posts have their content clearly differentiated

The other day i posted in a topic where i was already the last poster: the posts got auto-merged, even though there was a difference of over 6 hours between the posts, IIRC.

Doesn't matter that two different points were being addressed (one for each) and that, in the 2nd, i was asking if a mod could edit the title for me so that the reason for the second post could became clear in the topic's title.

In the future, if you would like the help of the mods, please report the post and explain what it is you would like done. If done that way, all the mods are notified, and you will likely get what you desire much faster.

Gotta chime in on the edit button. It goes away after a day or so. It would be very useful to to have that period last longer for running information that takes a few days to collect/collate. Example, https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/what-are-you-playing.204644/page-206#post-3860417
Currently playing through a game and giving general input on the experience and the game in question has had mixed reviews.

I don't mind making multiple posts, but it would look more clean/organized to simply have each update as an edit. Just input based on experiences. If there's a good reason for the edit function time limit, then tell me to hush.

i would vote for a 7 day opening then it locks and still have the ability to unlock with a mod
That sounds good. If memory serves there was a reason for the limit but can't remember what it was(maybe abuse?). A least 2 or 3 days would be nice.

That was a few years ago wasn't it? I agree that a limit should be there to prevent such abuse. Still, a window of a few days is reasonable and would be very useful, wouldn't it?

Bad idea for the majority of the forum (consider all the people in those heated brand debates that could easily just change whatever they said), great idea for some threads. However, in a thread like what are you playing, you should really post a new message rather than edit the old one. Reason - virtually no one who frequents the thread will read skip back a few pages and read it.

Agreed, I think the current system is fair. If anything maybe extend (but not fully unlock) the OP of a thread. possibly to provide clarity (since some members strike intrigue into the OP and ask for more info) I almost personally at any rate think this particular thought exercise has been beat alot . id much rather other things get dev time regarding quality of life improvements vs the lock times on posts or threads. this rating system for example (IMO of course).
