Although if you go by the numbers this game randomly spits out the 7800X3D is 50% faster at CPU simulation than the 7900X3D on average lol. Even though there is an artificial wall around 110-120fps with the best CPU's due to the game being heavily ST limited.

Yeah, i can see some gain for the 7800x3d having a single 8 core CCD but the game is no where close to maxing out the 7900x3d's 3d cache ccd and spilling over, doesnt make much sense.

Maybe I'm just broken, or blind, but turning ray tracing off makes everything look better to me. No strange artifacts on cars (bumpers/edges) any longer before/after race, doesn't look like a smeary mess either.

So strange.

I just played a few more custom races and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Think I'll stay with these settings for now.

Nope not you, I messed w performance RT and performance mode on XBX.
It flat-out looks better with all RT disabled. They have a lot of fixing to do yet.

Not really disappointed with the performance tho I’ve come across specific tracks that the ,performances is all over the place depending on where you are. I thought I’d broken my settings or something

I'm gonna finish my Wheel rant with how ridiculous Turn 10 when it comes to wheels....FM is even WORSE than Horizons at least it gives the "button numbers" FM JUST shows keyboard inputs...Absolutely knows exactly what wheel it is on an "Xbox Game" this is what I get compounded with the KB inputs...

It just boggles the mind that an MS First party title can't even be bothered to do "proper mapping" I mean I pretty used to it alot of other games I play are like that to the point I have memorized most of the numbers but they got even lazier and don't even acknowledge the wheel as the main input device making navigation of menus as difficult as possible let alone in races as well....

I dont think it would matter much as you would be GPU limited.

I'm progressing through Builder's Cup with Drivatar difficulty at 3 and Expert Rules, but I may have to ramp it up a little, but not punish myself. I like to win the races, but not to the point where I'm beyond reach because then it gets boring.
I also like the slider for the starting grid where it also predicts your final position over the finish line, so I like to start at about 20 where I'm told I'll finish between 4th and 7th which makes me want to crush that.
Although the compulsory practice laps are a pain (because they are forced on us), I'm doing most of them only because it helps familiarise myself with the track. However, I still wish that the initial race menu should be edited to reflect 'skip practice' at the outset.
Other than that, performance is fine now, as long as I don't tune the car between races because that causes a hard crash/freeze up.

I have noticed a trend where when you are on a real world track the FPS would be limited in some cases to 60 (Laguna Seca). Maybe it is all the real time data that the Game is using but the PC original tracks give me up to 147 FPS. I also notice on those tracks that when you brake your FPS can also drop but it more steady on real world tracks. Overall a fun Game but not something to buy unless you get the Deluxe version. The fact that they are mentioning tracks as DLC and not FLC is a huge red flag to only get this on Gamepass for now.

Did the Practical/Hatch tour (Golf R) and got it up to level 21, not loving the turbo so a few more to go till it can be NA tuned.
I do like how you can just blow away the spec and reconfigure on a whim, but the grind-y ness overall I'm still not sure about.

Also they really need to let you change the tire compound sooner, sport compound is a pretty basic ask.

Back to visuals, maybe it's just the tracks I raced in this tour but things seemed a little better, I think it can vary a lot as others noted.
The TAA / blurriness is far more noticeable in 3rd person cam VS cockpit, not really an issue for me since I prefer the latter but worth noting.

Tried it on PC, it runs well especially and looks a bit sharper than Xbox. But I have a weird couple of bugs, for some reason I was stuck in one race repeating it multiple times, another one for some reason it stuck on applying performance to the car.

Loadings are annoying, they are shorter than FM7 but still on a reasonably powerful PC or Xbox they shouldn't exist, or at least be like 1 to 2s max.

Exactly. 8 cores, 16 threads, 64GB of RAM, 24GB of VRAM, and the game is installed on a drive good for 7GB/s reads... why am I even seeing loading screens, much less how are they this long?

Yeah no idea.

Finally got some time to try GT7, I chose Laguna Seca with a BMW M3, both games look very similar in terms of resolution and textures, but GT7 loads much faster and is more graceful, when you load the game immediately the circuit is shown (though I believe it's a video). Forza meanwhile loading loading loading, no idea why they didn't use series hardware to minimise this issue.

So I've got Forza at last and the good parts are amazing! However, already had my first crash whilst tuning, FPS is all over the place on some tracks and the bugs and errors throughout need someone at Turn 10 to get kneecapped. But I just spent 90 quid on it from Steam, so let the grinding, tuning, winning and patches commence!

No problem with VRAM on my end, but there is a lack of horsepower to drive everything else. Last I looked the game only uses 6 or 8GB.

I've got everything on ultra but RT turned off, as I know what RDNA2 is like at RT lol. I should be used to Forza games being unfinished having played all of them at some point, but I was hoping they had changed their ways, lol.

VRAM is not an issue for most people I think, using 6-8gb is surprisingly low for a just released title.

This Forza has so much potential, hope they iron out these gremlins and make it into one of the best driving games ever!

Actually, I see a lot of low VRAM usage, Some games pin it, but I see all this talk about VRAM and just roll my eyes, even for 8GB cards, like my 3070Ti..

That is a good idea, I will install it shortly. Though he is on a 1080p monitor.. My TV is 4K, and a bit too big to carry up and down the stairs

My FPS seems to be locked to 60 no matter what I do, and there's a weird TAA style blur on EVERYTHING all the time. FM7 looks sharper, even if the lighting is notably worse.

As for the handling model, leagues ahead of FM7. Once a car is properly set up (why was my Mustang running over 40PSI in the front and rear?) it feels really nice, and I have nearly the exact same trouble here and in Assetto Corsa taking a Porsche down the kink at Laguna Seca.
