Huh ? Who removed both ? Definitely not the Define 7 case.
You can always use the power LED as HDD activity LED if you so need.

I have both cases and therefore I am actually disappointed from 7 in this regard.

How many mounting points / screew holes are there for optical drive when it is converted to "storage mode" from the default open layout?
What a cop out by them, I got a good deal on the case but ended up giving it to my friend -- (I have design 5/6) SO the 7 has reset sw, power sw, then it has power +/- which you hook up to the power and get a static light. So on the case you just get the little light under the power button that lights up - the power button itself no longer has a light illuminating from within it unfortunately.
