Attention to all of you who enjoy your games to be free of charge (and don't we all?). Bethesda has announced that The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is available for free download, today only. Yes, the game is an old one, but a free game is certainly worth the admission price, whether you've already played it and have your trusty, physical CD edition laying around (it's good for a frisbee nowadays), or just want to get your hands on something Elder Scrolls that you've never touched before.

Like any Bethesda game, there are a number of mods that you can apply here to fix bugs (ah trusty old Bethesda), improve mechanics, game systems, gameplay, and graphics, so you can always dive in a little deeper if that is your wish. You'll have to sign-up for a Bethesda account, and enter the code TES25TH-MORROWIND for the price to become a big, fat, submissive zero.

... aaaaand Bethesda's servers are having issues. Who'da thunk it?

Can't be any worse than Ubisoft's servers?
Well, it's hard to be worse than "not working", but at least they can keep each other company down in the dirt?

LOL! Thanks Bethesda!

Invalid promo code,......

Can they do at least something right? Fine, it's free, I supposedly should not complain xD

Invalid code. Knowing Bethesda, it'll stay broken until the promo expires.

Blah. Already own GOTY on Steam, I'd rather wait for a GOG sale than get it here.

Sure it can. Ubisoft is pretty good these days isn't it?

The irony here with Bethesda cannot be missed though. Need to debug free stuff.

Finally worked for me tonight. They really pooched it over this one. But they are extending the offer: "Update: We are extending our giveaway through the weekend. "

Still have the original release of Morrowind 3 on CD-ROM in my old games collection.

No time to play this anyways.
I'll Pass,

Please stop trying to get customers pulled in to yet another PC distribution platform.

Well, I guess everything needs to get released on Steam or not at all.

At this moment, the code claim is working, but last night their web-site was practically dead: partially working logins, URL not found errors, code not working and a few more typical errors.

@lexluthermiester +1 hands down for GoG. But other than that I'd rather use one game client instead of 5.

Free my ass. Just like countless "free" offers before, it's just Bethesda begging you to sign up with them so they can claim there's users on their platform.

That reference behind the comment is not monopolization by Valve, but distribution exclusivity that the PC gaming market is currently undergoing.

Publishers should always make their games available everywhere in my opinion. Make your customers happy by allowing them to purchase on the media or distribution service they choose.
