I have no idea who any of these people are. For that matter I have no idea who any of you are either.

For all I know, everyone here and mentioned is a figment of my twisted, disgusting and horrific imagination.

BTW, I grabbed Kerbal space program. I've been wanting to send those little green dudes to their doom.

nope, no prime

Listing "free" games from Amazon Prime makes zero sense.

They're not free, just like the pretzels at the bar of the local country club. They are a complimentary amenity for paying members. Same with the wine, beer and cocktails at the business class airport lounge.

Or the VOD content available at PBS Passport; I have access to that because I donate to my local PBS television station. It's not free.

At least there I can dress up as a rich snob girl and eat pretzels for free until the security guard asks for my ID card.

Three sensible points you may have overlooked:

- A very substantial number of people have Prime and I suspect most of them welcome any reminders of freebies available to them. Personally, I'm not in the habit of checking Prime Gaming so the reminders in this thread have allowed me to grab some stuff that I would've otherwise missed.
- If you don't have Prime you can use the free trial offer to claim games.
- Many of the Prime freebies are redeemed at other stores like GOG and they're provided as individual keys which can be given to a friend if you already own the title or don't want it. I've done this several times.

a friendly reminder that the entire wings of liberty campaign for starcraft 2 is free to play permanently. and as someone who just beat it for the second time, it is truly a master work in gaming

"The Prophecy is Uncertain, there is Always Hope" - Zeratul

starcraft2.com

it even includes a recap video from the previous games story if you don't want to read up or replay that.

I imagine most here have played it already, but for those that haven't, you are doing yourself a disservice, truly one of the greats - can't beat free

Also the original Starcraft and its expansion brood war are now free.

It may look funny to begin with, but once you get suck into it, you can stop playing it. Also have cool mastery achievements that is fun to do.

I don't know where the other posts went to, but Top Gun Maverick is awesome. Especially the dogfight scenes.

also I highly recommend the secret mission and the optional Zeratul missions in Wings of Liberty, lots of fun.

original starcraft was fun true, but I had more fun in Wings of Liberty personally.

I saw top gun maverick at a super nice movie theater in Finland, the sound was insane, that movie really needed to be seen in theaters imo. absolutely entire different experience in a high end movie theater. the jet engines taking off was wild to experience

so many goodies and so little space...yeah...

In many cases, these titles are free for a limited time. The best course of action is to claim the freebie to add to your library regardless if you want to devote any disk space to it right now.

It is rare to be forced to download the game right then. Freebies from the Epic Game Store usually stay in your library forever.

For Steam games, I just download the title. If I don't plan to play it right away, I will usually backup to an external USB drive (my Internet connection isn't very fast) then delete from my Steam library to free up space. Ubisoft and Battle.net titles can be copied to the archival drive as well.

If I decide to play the game, I restore from the archive and then let Steam apply any patches. It's faster than re-downloading the entire game from scratch. Since my Internet connection is pokey, this is a better use of my bandwidth and time.

I will also claim free games from a different game store because sometimes DLC and other content is included for those titles. Remember that a free DLC for a game title on the Epic Game Store cannot be used for the same title sold on the Steam store. Thus I have sets of Bioshock, Tomb Raider, Alien Isolation, Control, Death Stranding and other games from both Steam and Epic.

And people's taste in games often evolve. For sure I'm not playing only the games I played in 1993 just like I'm not just listening to the music of that era exclusively.

Again, no one is holding a gun up to your head telling you that you must store these freebies forever on your precious drive space. Just claim the title and decide for yourself whether or not you want to devote the space for it. It doesn't have to be some sort of online drama.

For what it's worth, BABBDI only takes up 1.18 GB of disk space, a paltry amount by 2023 standards.

Library space is infinite
yes it is, but local storage with games that you like more, is always better, games are getting very big and with DLCs even more, and my money isn´t growing with it, sure my library allready has a lot
