I can attest that game engines can and are being used as games by many, many people.

As for the trading cards limitation, it's a thing Steam does for its freebies. Every game drops like 3 or 4 randomly as you play them. Freebies drop none. I suppose it's because these this can be traded for [Steam wallet] money.

Fair enough on the 1st point.

I am aware that freebies claimed directly from Steam don't drop cards, but I've never seen more or less the same version next to a free one. Also, the cards aren't worth the price, unless whoever buys that gets very lucky with one specific 15$ foil card. Weird, but whatever.

amazon has offered me in past year several times "7 days prime for 0.99€" Very rarely it's a free prime week.
It's worth it when you want to order something small. than watch those amazon prime video exclusive and than grab the games.

If amazon does not offer me that 7 days offer I just wait or just do not buy. No is No. 1€ prime week is barely okay. I'm probably one of the few who never bought something on steam, ubisoft, ea, and the other crap launchers. Only physical games around year 2000 or free amd reward games.

Have yet to check but Humankind didn't get great feedback. Making a great 4X is hard.
