But guess what? When I redeemed it, I was told that I already own Fallout 76, which was news to me.

When I try to redeem on the Microsoft store it pops up a blank window. I tried to redeem via browser, logging in my Microsoft account and it also says that I already own the game, but going to MS Store to try to download, I'm only given the option to buy it 8€ or to subscribe xbox game pass.

Try going into the XBox program on PC, click library and then check the box for owned games.

Tried downloading the app from the windows store and the same blank window appeared, and the download/installation seems to be stalled.
