Haven't yet, but I changed out the 9800GT for a GTX260 for physx, so I'll test again.

Well I fail hard, all the other 5870's cream mine....

Just FYI, Look at that big O/C run I did, and didn't get any better score:banghead:

I would have expected to see some gain from the GPU clock but NADT!

I knew the CPU clock wouldn't show a gain, since I had did those compare's back in my AGP benching days last year.

Hi ppl.
Here is one unimpressive score from standard XFX 5850.
It's because of crappy CPU but the thing is, I think it can do better.
Can you see the cpu usage durring the testing ?
Anyone knows why it's using only 1 core ?
Is it normal for Furmark ? Because it's the same with 3dmark2006.

(Well not exacly, 3dmark is using 30% of 1 core and 70% from 2nd.)

I tried to set afinity to both but it runs on 1 anyway.
I have AMD cpu driver and also Dual-core optimizer installed.

Any ideas ?

Great reference thread here shev, looks like the 5870's run right with my 4870x2. One suggestion though, put GPU OC's in the main postings, CPU OC's don't matter one bit in Furmark.

Hello there, i was looking for reference on gpu temp and found this thread. It's a nice thread IMO. I actually am wondering is it ok for my temp to be around 86-88 C at max load? It's quite worrying for me as this is my first self setup rig. Even without the OC it still run quite hot and idle at around 51 C. I included bench n stability run for reference. Thanks.

EDIT: I forgot to add that i am from a country with a bit hot climate (around 30 C ) and room doesnt have air-condition.

How is the airflow in your case? Is it a stuffy case or does it already have proper ventilation?

the temps are a tad warm but still safe.. I'd look into getting more airflow around the cards.. it can be tough to keep temps low in a warmer climate with no AC :-( but like i said your temps are still pretty good that you wont have to worry about any damage.

OK. Thanks XD.. using cm690 with 2 fan intake (120mm all, side n front) n 2 fan output ( rear n top).. i dunno if it is good enuf or not.. maybe i will try watercooling the gpu if i have the financial ability.. haha.. it's just that my cpu is way cooler so i assume my case have good airflow... 100C is max for gpu rite?

Is there any tweak to adjust CCC fan setting? I tried afterburner using the graph thingy, but then it gets messy cause of having to use another software for it... sometime will conflict... i know can manually set the fan but i was wondering if can set it to auto adjust at higher rpm... maybe bios mod?

Have i got a dud card or what? Takes me 1.250V to get it stable at 950/1275 - tested on Furmark for 7 minutes without having screen flickering and lines. Anything less causes errors. I've created a custom fan profile with MSI Afterburner and at 1.25V i hit 82C on Furmark at max.

It wouldnt even finish the benchmark at 1000/1300 on 1.35V (fan 100%). Am i doing something wrong?

In GPU-Z, all the VRM temps are almost the same as the core temp, 70's and low 80's

BTW, benchmark results - 10500 (950/1200); 10501 (950/1250), 10507 (950/1275)

try keeping your gddr5 at 1240mhz... quite a few 5870's had ram that wouldnt do any higher than 1250 without error correction kicking in...

i'll run this bench when i get back from egypt in 7 weeks...;)

Well I tested crysis at 1250 ram and at 1275 ram, i gained like 2% with the higher clocks, min FPS were higher aswell. I'll re-bench/test today, at 1240 ram it was completely fine now. I have enough time today so i will find the max clocks and report back. Thanks anyways :)

Okay, 965/1265 is doable in Furmark stability. Furmark gives me higher score with 965/1265, results in Crysis are similar but the min FPS are lower at 965/1265 compared to 950/1275

Hi, everyone
i ran furmark with my new 5770 gpu
i have had 4331 with stock set and ccc 9.12
now it's 4258 stock and 4834 with 960/1445 with ccc 10.2
temps go to 92C, but while gaming never above 74C
is it OK, because i can see some much better results?
may this be because of CPU or OS (i run XP SP2)
thanx...

I'm not sure where you should put it because of the odd combo with 5970 + 2x 5870.

I installed my new VRM cooler. Much better temps, and this GDDR5 does get HOT! So now shorter heat sinks for it.

Version 1.6.5 nest a few more points.

1063 in Heaven, but it didn't capture the windowed mode bench? Just a black screen where it was....

Validation at speed. Almost 30% overclock and I need more power capn' any hard mods for these cards yet? I would like to take this beast as far as easily possible.

Also the higher the core clock the lower the memory clock? Maybe a weak part of my core, or just not enough juice?

Hopefully no ones 5850 arrived like mine did...

Good thing the card was stuff into the unsmashed portion of the box, the Sapphire box was brand new looking and the card is working great. The packaging scared me a bit.. lol

I finally think I have a score worth posting for my Club 3D 5770. I did manage a 4819 run, but forgot to grab a screen shot.

Honestly? No bloody idea.

I ran Furmark on the current oc the day before and got 3k or there abouts. Ran another last night for interest sake and scored the 4600. I then upped the GPU clock by 10mhz and did the 4819 run.

I'll see if I can do a similar run tonight

Edit: I did change two other things. Catalyst 10.3 and Furmark 1.65

Think those played a big role

I will update all these scores ASAP. Maybe Tuesday if I get time. Can someone with a 5770 please post a stock clock result using 10.6?

OC run 875/1100
