SATA is over.
We do not need slower SATA III SSD drives under the guise of affordability.
Producers are able to offer more affordable PCIe SSD drives.
They only need to change the transfer interface and controller.
But this change must not quadruple the price.

There is M.2 standard as well providing much faster speeds in a conveniently smaller form factor. SATA-Express in current form is a mess and makes no sense at all.

What is the price?? This thing is 4x faster than a 850 pro, I have an 850 pro but 3 year warranty wouldn't worry me too much.

This is early tech, other brands will come out, no doubt including Samsung, price will reduce and warranties will be longer. I think 3 years is reasonable, 5 years is awesome. 10 years is a little ridiculous.
 
"Built with x4 LSI SF-2281 SSD controllers" so this is like x4 regular 120 GB SSD in raid 0... if one of those x4 goes dead then raid0 rules apply.... I do not know how this will be priced but damn sure the price will look more like "120GBssd x10", not "120GBssd x4" as it should - so thx, but no thx - I can raid0 my SSD's by my own.
 
wow, this will load Battlefield 0.5 seconds faster then my current SATA SSD. Totally worth 10 times the price. :rolleyes:

Given the storage size and PCI-e, I'm going to assume north of 600, probably north of 800. I know I'm guessing, but it's an educated guess based on past prices of PCI-e SSDs.

Who wanted the price? It's 650 Euripides for the 480 GB model here in Spain.
 
Direct input into the processor with 4x 120GB RAID-0 on a PCIe 2gen. x8, x4 LSI SF-2281 SSD controllers .REVODRIVE 3, 350 won a competition operates on the PCIe x4 and there is an advantage or disadvantage depending on the available (x16 -x40 links). of course, the price will be a determining reason or 5SSD in RAID or G Skill Phoenix Blade. It is certainly delivers extreme ability.
Looks nice but no one thinks that in the case of 4 x SLI should be removed connectors on the card is water cooled GPU that could be edited and this is one manufacturer does not make PCIe SSD card accordingly to the needs of the densely occupied SLI environment.

RAID0...higher latency in the name of more bandwidth. The only circumstance I could see using this is in a database server as a cache that sits between the memory and the hard drives. This would be cheaper, but not as fast, as shelling out many thousands for extra RAM.

Ya maybe I explained that wrong. I mean its not mainstream tech. Its an enthusiast component with not much competition and they are always expensive, but it should change over time.
