This will be in my case so long as it's quiet, because the looks make up for any cooling short-comings (as long as it isn't worse than stock...)

Edit: Unless the top fins are plastic just to look cool, that would be horrible... oh god please tell me they aren't

from what i understand Palit owns Gainward and Galaxy brands. i think you can find both palit and galaxy cards in the US, so hopefully one of those will have this for sale here. (i'd buy one too if they will )

wait what .. . . I think you just herped a derp. . . .

This is what I figured... Nvidia release's a "reference" wink card at $500 and it evaporated in moments. While now we'll wait for AIB to get there "customs" on shelve's probably ~3weeks. While by then everyone (except the say 1,200 worldwide customers that got it on opening day) will find there won't be any such $500 MSRP cards, at least for months to come.

Face it there will be a limited number of chips (TSMC :shadedshu) Nvidia will be able to bin for the GTX680, and so every AIB won't be letting thier small lot not bring the best RoI. Those AIB's are not going to let those be in products that can justify a premium asking price. By the time there's sufficient stock on the shelves (8-10 weeks), things might change, but to find GTX680 at around $530 will be norm for a long time. Exactly why AMD didn’t find any reason to worry about 7970 pricing.
